From the Office of the State Fire Marshal:
The Office of the State Fire Marshal is currently investigating a fatal fire in Havre de Grace with the support of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), and the Maryland State Police.
At 12:19 p.m. neighbors of 4036 Webster Road reported large amounts of smoke and flames emanating from the front of the 2-story dwelling. It took two and half hours for approximately 50 firefighters to contain the blaze.
One adult was found deceased on scene. There were no additional people at home at the time of the fire. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is conducting an autopsy to determine cause of death and identity of the victim.
The fire scene is being investigated by deputies of the Northeast Regional Office of the State Fire Marshal. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact this office at 410-836-4852.

Another foundation saved by our heroes. When is the first paid county station coming?
SMH says
Seriously…. If you knew anything about this fire, you would know that even if it was a paid crew responding it still would have had the same result. This fire progressed rapidly through the roof and r.
Instead of knocking the volunteers, how about signing up and helping. Time to put up or shut up..

He doesn’t measure up. Just another computer coward running his mouth. Probably wanted to be a firefighter but make the grade.

People don’t volunteer because of the amount of time it takes to be involved with volunteering as a Fire Fighter in this state.
Its a terrible excuse to use but it’s the reality.
Most county residents would not be opposed to at least 1 county operated full service Fire/Rescue. Especially a mix/split between Northern and Southern Harford County like the County Ambulances.
I mean seriously dude, how many more years is Joppa Magnolia going to be first on scene in Riverside?
JACK HOFF says
The only solution to a low volunteer man power availability is a career local government ran fire station.
If you’ve exhausted all efforts to attract candidates so all your fire/rescue equipment is not rolling out of the “house” driver only half the time, it’s time to put away the personality complexes and acknowledge the current culture of society combined with standards of fire fighting in Maryland with the fire/rescue incidents in Harford County can no longer sustain volunteer only fire stations.
Who’s not onboard with this?
Its great you can claim all 911 calls are responded too, but when there’s only one guy in the the fire truck that shows up and the next one that is halfway staffed is 10 minutes away..
WTF?
