From the Harford County Sheriff’s Office:
On Wednesday, Deputies charged an Edgewood High School student with assault after she sprayed pepper spray in the school.
At 7:15 a.m., the School Resource Officer assigned to Edgewood High School was alerted to an altercation that had occurred in a bathroom at the school. Through investigation, it was determined the 16-year-old female suspect targeted another female student and sprayed pepper spray in her direction. Two additional female Edgewood High School students were in the bathroom at the time and were also exposed to the pepper spray. All students were treated by the school nurse.
The suspect is charged as a juvenile by way of referral to the Department of Juvenile Services with three counts of 2nd degree assault, weapon on school property, and disturbing school operations.

Edgewood’s not the nicest of schools. If it was a case where she was not the aggressor, and was in fear for her welfare, then the charges should be dropped. Not enough information was included in this article to make a determination as to the circumstances.

I don’t know. I don’t think there is any way around the fact she wasn’t supposed to have the pepper spray in the school. That may be the only charge she would have to face. However, it’s silly to charge minors with stupid little administrative crimes when it could all be handled in house with the principal enforcing the rules of the school. A detention, a suspension or something like that would be more appropriate. Remember, that “resource officer” is supposed to be there to deal with things like school shootings and guns getting into the school. Not to help the school’s administration with the duties of the administrators. Having a police officer investigate every little incident in the school is not why “resource officers” are supposed to be there. Next we will hear about how the police are investigating spit balls being shot at the teachers when the teachers backs are turned and that the students were charged with a biohazard crime because spit is a biohazard. Things like this are borderline insane for police to be called in to investigate. I think Pamela say it best with her comment “Ridiculous”….. Prop the door open to the bathroom and let it air out. Pepper spray dissipates naturally within an hour.

The child should be publicly executed.

Ridiculous.

Assault? Sarah Sanders was just on TV telling us it was merely seasoning being sprayed on the toddlers….

Gotta wonder what’s up. Stories just seem to hang out ad nauseum , new stories far and few between. Is this site going to wither and die?

This site only had 1 or 2 stories most days, and many of them were poorly written, so no surprise to me if it can’t continue.
Just the facts says
This site doesn’t have any news stories it’s a regurgitation of press releases from various groups. Notice the first few words of every posting…. “From the”
Not news… no edge…
