From the Liriodendron Foundation:
The Liriodendron Foundation is pleased to announce an exhibit of colorful and eclectic mixed media reflecting the work of the late Carol Wolosik, her daughter, and granddaughter. A reception with the artist ‘s daughter, Heather Braun, will be open to the public on Sunday, July 23rd from 1:00-4:00 p.m. The reception will include light refreshments. Gallery hours are Sundays, 1:00-4:00 p.m. and Wednesdays from 1:00-7:00 p.m. The show continues through September 3rd.
Carol Wolosik’s career as a master herbalist, teacher, and dedicated gallery director at Liriodendron spanned more than twenty (20) years. Wolosik’s daughter, Heather Braun, described her mother’s true role as an artist in her ability to inspire others by becoming in tune with nature and taking the time to observe the beauty that surrounds us. Braun terms these times as ‘fleeting moments.’ Wolosik particularly enjoyed creating these moments for others in her belief that everyone can be an artist. For the reluctant artist Wolosik might have suggested that they “take a look at this flower and the incandescent colors in the light and how they look differently,” shared Braun.
When asked about her mother’s influence Braun explained that growing up in a creative home quite naturally inspired her own work as an artist and in turn she influenced her daughter, Lydia. She describes their art as realism moving towards the abstract, emulating her mother’s idea of the message or ideas one personally takes away from the art.

Carol was a good friend, an inspiration…which will last as her art does.
