From the Harford County Sheriff’s Office:
Detectives with the Harford County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a homicide after a 56-year-old woman was found deceased in a Bel Air residence.
On July 20, at approximately 6:36 a.m., deputies assigned to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Northern Precinct responded to the 1000 block of Jeanett Way in Bel Air in reference to a male threatening suicide. Deputies made entry into the residence and located the 56-year-old female deceased from apparent blunt force trauma. Deputies also discovered a juvenile male in an upper floor bedroom refusing to respond.
Deputies began a dialogue with the juvenile, convincing him to exit the room. He was taken into custody and found to have self-inflicted wounds. Medics transported him to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Patrol deputies secured the scene and the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division was requested and assumed the investigation. Detectives assigned to the Forensic Services Unit responded to process the scene for evidence.
Initial investigation indicates there is no threat to the surrounding community.
The 56-year-old female was identified as Donna Zaragoza.
