From the Aberdeen Police Department:
At approximately 2:00 p.m. on July 12, 2017, Officers from the Aberdeen Police Department were dispatched to the Park Terrace Apartments located in the 300 block of S. Parke Street, in reference to a suicidal subject who stated that he had a gun to his head.
Officer’s closed surrounding streets and sidewalks for the safety of citizens. Just prior to a Crisis Negotiation Team being notified, the person peacefully exited the apartment and was taken into custody without further incident. The person was taken to a local emergency medical facility for treatment and evaluation. The person was cooperative, no gun was recovered, and there were no injuries.
