The Havre de Grace Arts Collective (“Arts Collective”) is pleased to announce Rebecca R. Jessop has joined the organization as Executive Director. As Executive Director, Jessop is responsible for overseeing the management of The Cultural Center of the Opera House and the Arts Collective.
The Arts Collective is a newly formed 501(c)(3) organization created to address the cultural and economic needs of Havre de Grace and the surrounding region. The Arts Collective has several goals. First, to bring regional and national high caliber performances to The Cultural Center at the Opera House that engage and attract audiences. Second, to further develop the Arts and Entertainment (A&E) District program of the State of Maryland attracting artists to live, work and play in Havre de Grace. Third, to enhance the arts by serving as the umbrella organization for the Arts by The Bay Gallery, serving as a cooperative gallery and offering educational opportunities which nurture learning and creativity.
“We believe the Cultural Center will become an economic engine leveraging the arts furthering Havre de Grace as one of the best small towns in America,” said Bill Price, Chair of the Board of Directors. “The Arts Collective will work with local businesses to fill the off-season times with activities in the Cultural Center. We look forward to working with our community.”
Jessop is an experienced nonprofit professional with over 25 years of experience in fields ranging from social services to the arts. She has held leadership positions with the Harford County Public Library Foundation, United Way of Central Maryland, Center for the Arts, Harford County Cultural Arts Board, Town of Bel Air Film Festival, and The Senator Theatre. Her background includes organizational development, fundraising, marketing & communications, television & radio production, event planning & administration, and grant writing. Rebecca’s community Involvement includes Harford Leadership Academy, Town of Bel Air Arts & Entertainment Advisory Board, Bel Air Downtown Alliance Design Committee, and the Southern Harford County Rotary.
