From Harford County government:
County Executive Barry Glassman has declared a Day of Remembrance and ordered Harford County flags to fly at half-staff on Friday, February 10 for fallen heroes Senior Deputy Patrick Dailey and Deputy First Class Mark Logsdon. Marking one year to the day since both deputies were murdered in the line of duty, the county will observe a moment of silence at noon as the county’s emergency sirens are activated in their honor. The county’s administrative office building in Bel Air will also be illuminated with blue lights throughout the week in support of the slain deputies and all law enforcement. At the county executive’s request Gov. Larry Hogan co-signed the official declaration, which reads as follows:
“Commemorating and honoring our fallen officers for their integrity and dedicated selfless efforts, who by their faithful and loyal devotion to public safety provided for the rights and security of all citizens in the community they served;
Establishing February 10th as a Day of Remembrance, calling upon citizens to observe a moment of silence at 12 noon, at which time the Harford County Emergency Services System will be activated, in memory of Deputy First Class Mark Logsdon & Senior Deputy Patrick Dailey, I, Barry Glassman, County Executive of Harford County, Maryland, do hereby proclaim February 10th Harford County Day of Remembrance.”
Elaborating on comments in his State of the County Address, County Executive Glassman said, “February 10, 2016 brought violence beyond belief to our county with the murder of Senior Deputy Patrick Dailey and Deputy First Class Mark Logsdon. In the dark days that followed, the county’s love and generosity never shined so bright. Now one year later, we will come together again to honor Pat and Mark, who gave their lives protecting the lives of others.”
County employees in Bel Air will assemble just before noon on Friday outside the administrative office building located at 220 S. Main Street. At noon all citizens are asked to remain silent as the county’s emergency sirens blast three times in succession for approximately one minute.
“Wherever they may be at noon on Friday, I encourage all citizens to join me by pausing to reflect on the sacrifice made by Pat and Mark,” said County Executive Glassman. “In gratitude for their courage and dedication to duty, let us also rededicate ourselves to caring for their families and for one another. In this way, our triumph as a county over this experience can resonate in the hearts of other communities and give hope and courage to show that it is possible to come together in any season.”

This is a great action of honor and integrity. These two officers were doing their jobs and acted in a correct and lawful manner. They were gunned down by a lunatic and should never be forgotten. RIP to both…..

AMEN SC SADLY gone…………NEVER forgotten

@SoulCrusher – THIS DID NOT HAVE TO HAPPEN! – The Officer in the restaurant put all the patrons at risk by approaching the man in a cavalier way by sitting next to him to have a conversation. The man quickly pulled a gun and the Officer never had a chance to draw his weapon. The Officer should have confronted him face to face. He would have had a much better observation point to see the man draw his weapon to fire upon the Officer. The Officer, after questioning the man would have realized his mental state. He may have had an opportunity to call for back-up and at least ask the man to step outside to remove him from the crowd in order to keep everyone safe.
I know this is not what everyone wants to hear right now. Hopefully our fine men and women in uniform will take that day as a learning lesson.

That is absolutely false. Pat never sat down next to this asshole. He walked up to the guy, greeted him, and told him to show his hands because they were hidden under the table. This scum pulled out a gun and shot Pat before he had a chance to react.
The lie about Pat sitting down with this guy comes from 1 source…a high school girl with a history of lying who wasn’t even that part of the restaurant when it happened, and wanted her 15 minutes of fame when the news crews were sticking their mics in anyone’s face who was willing to talk.
Harford County Citizen says
Wrong my friend. This is from the MOTHER and DAUGHTER who chose not to sit in an adjacent booth from him. “She said the deputy tried to talk to the man, who was apparently known to officers and workers at the restaurant. The deputy sat down, asked how he was doing, and the man shot him in the head.
“I saw him fall back out of his chair, and the blood started coming out,” Faulkner said. “I didn’t know how to process it. My mom said, ‘What’s going on?’ and I said, ‘Get down. Someone just got shot.'”
The Deputies already had an arrest warrant for this man. The wife left Panera and alerted Police. The Deputies should have communicated with each other, ran his information (Like they do when you do 32 in a 30 mile an hour zone) then they would have seen the warrant issued for him.
This just went COMPLETELY wrong. I will also give a moment of silence to those innocent patrons who have had to seek counseling over this.

Well “Harford County Citizen”, I believe Hank set you straight. Both officers acted in a correct and lawful manner. Every one on the Dagger knows I don’t agree with the CDS policies of the state, the tactics used by police investigating people’s homes or virtually any decision of Constitutional Law that comes from the Courts of Maryland. However, these guys did their job. They did it the way it was supposed to be done. They performed their jobs correct and lawfully. I have nothing more to say…….
Just the facts says
The shooters wife warned the Sheriff he was in town, Nothing was done with the report, and no investigation after the shooting ever happened.
Officers didn’t need to die.
Nomenclature says
“Officers.” Uhm, DEPUTIES.
Okay, you’re right. Law enforcement OFFICER.
I often wonder how many TROOPERS are called “Officer” by the general public on a daily basis?
