An two-story Aberdeen home under extensive renovation was destroyed by fire Monday night.
Just after 6 p.m. on Monday, emergency personnel were dispatched to the 300 block of Fords Lane in Aberdeen for the report of a dwelling fire in a two-story, single family home under renovation.
The home was gutted and under extensive renovation, and the fire was discovered by a family member who arrived to check on the home.
Forty firefighters from the Aberdeen Volunteer Fire Department responded to the single-alarm blaze and had it under control within 40 minutes.
The Office of the State Fire Marshal estimated the fire did $200,000 worth of damage to the structure. No injuries were reported.
