From The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region:
The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region (The Arc NCR) was awarded “Provider of the Year” by Maryland Works, Inc. this November at their 9th Annual Employment Awards Luncheon. The Employment Awards were presented by Suzanne Page, Assistant Superintendent, Maryland Division of Rehabilitation Services (DORS), Carol Beatty, Secretary, Maryland Department of Disabilities and Bob Hofmann, President & CEO, Maryland Works, Inc. The program’s Master of Ceremonies was Michael Bullis, Executive Director of the Image Center and Chairperson of Maryland Works’ Board of Directors.
The Arc NCR was honored for their Vocational Services program, which provides long-term community-based employment supports to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. They currently partner with over 90 employees in the northern Maryland region, and have helped more than 160 individuals find equal employment as active members of their community.
As an Employment First State, The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region continues to work towards the goal that all of their supported individuals are working where, when and how they want, and they are a true part of their business community.
“While we know we still have work to do, this award tells me that we are moving in the right direction,” says Chief Operating Officer of The Arc NCR, Kevin Drumheller. “For this award to come from Maryland Works, a high-quality membership organization that is the driving force behind employing individuals with differing abilities in Maryland, is a huge honor.”
