A super high-end sports car was vandalized and destroyed in Aberdeen on Friday night after someone allegedly broke in and ignited a road flare within the vehicle.
Just before 8:30 p.m. on Friday, emergency personnel were dispatched to the 1000 block of Hardees Drive in Aberdeen for the report of a vehicle fire in a 2015 McLaren 650S Spider passenger car.
The fire was discovered by the car’s owner in the interior passenger’s compartment. The preliminary cause was determined to be incendiary, due to an unknown person breaking into the vehicle and igniting the interior with a road flare.
Ten firefighters from the Aberdeen Volunteer Fire Company responded and had the single-alarm blaze under control within 20 minutes. There were no injuries reported.
The Office of the State Fire Marshal estimated the fire caused $300,000 in damage.

common sense says it’s about 99% likely that this was an insurance fraud job by the owner. Can’t pay for it anymore or need a large sum of money then just burn it. People like this are the reason why all of our insurance rates are so high.
No way. Hate crime. Dude had the car done up as a Trump endorsement. I saw it right after he had it done. The name Trump was done up in like 16″ lettering down each door. Painted just like one of Trumps yard signs.

The car was in an industrial park. The owner noticed a road flare in his vehicle and called 911.
