From Harford County government:
No Shave November is a national campaign to “grow” awareness about the importance of men’s cancer screenings. In recognition of No Shave November, County Executive Barry Glassman invites the men of Harford County to stop shaving for the month and donate new shaving supplies and other toiletries to support local veterans and individuals experiencing homelessness.
Donations can be dropped off in the lobby of the Harford County government administration building at 220 S. Main Street in Bel Air. For more information about men’s health and cancer screenings, please visit http://www.cancer.org/cancer/news/features/4-cancer-screening-tests-for-men.

Reality says
Cancer awareness…… Without this non effort I would have never known cancer existed.
Could we please stop all the feel good nonprofit money making awareness bullshit already?
Things we are all acutely aware of:
Cancer
diabetes
child abuse
spousal abuse
homeless vets
soccer mom texting
And a thousand other awareness programs that make people rich off of the suffering of others.
