The Harford County Chamber of Commerce held their 25th Annual Harford Award at Water’s Edge Events Center in Belcamp on Thursday, September 22, 2016 to honor six outstanding Harford County businesses or organizations. The recipients were announced and honored for exemplifying a strong commitment to the county’s business community.
The 2016 recipients of this prestigious award are Altus Engineering, BSC America (Bel Air Auto Auction), Chesapeake Testing, Freedom Federal Credit Union, Kaufman Cancer Center and Ladew Topiary Gardens. The remarkable organizations have blossomed in our community because of their vision, focus and determination.
“The Harford Award is one of the Chamber’s signature events. It is our opportunity to celebrate and recognize businesses that have positively impacted our county in significant ways. Our theme ‘The Night Stars Come Out’ accurately describes these shining stars of the business community. We are proud to celebrate our Harford Award recipients for their contributions to our wonderful county,” said Angela Rose, President & CEO of the Harford County Chamber of Commerce.
This year’s Harford Award was made possible through the financial support of premier sponsors Baltimore Gas and Electric, Harford Community College, Harford County Public Library, Harford County Office of Economic Development and University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health. To become a recipient of the Harford Award, a nominated business must demonstrate business growth, increased employment, service to the community, unique and creative business strategies, technology innovation, support of public and private education, and a drive to enhance Harford County’s business climate. The award categories include Entrepreneur, Retail, Service, R&D/Technology/Manufacturing & Distribution, Non-Profit and Hospitality/Tourism.
