Just after 9 a.m. on Tuesday, emergency responders were dispatched to the 4600 block of Annhurst Drive in Belcamp for a report of a fire in a one-story, end of the group, apartment.
The fire was discovered by a neighbor and originated in the bathroom; caused accidentally by an electrical failure.
Twenty-five firefighters from the Abingdon Fire Company responded to the single-alarm blaze and had it under control within 15 minutes.
The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal estimated the fire caused $25,000 in damage to the structure and another $25,000 in damage to its contents. No injuries were reported.
There was no sprinkler system in the apartment and a smoke alarm was present, but not working.
The occupants are being assisted by Harford County Disaster Assistance and Red Cross.

You may want to check the total of 25 firefighters from Abingdon Fire Company. I’m pretty sure Aberdeen and Joppa had the crews there to get this fire out.

Why does it matter who was there and how accurately it gets reported? The fire was stopped. Bravo.
You want a pat on the back? Or do you hold some superior complex? “Yeah man, we had to respond to your fire.”
Fucking asshole.
You can't handle the truth says
No idiot, I am just saying the people of Riverside are not getting the fire protection they deserve. You know have a clue do you?
Uranhasswwhole says
If Riverside isn’t getting fire service, how the hell was this fire put out? That makes no sense.
Take your nutswinging volunteer fire fighting politics somewhere else.
I thought Fire Companies in this county were all allies? Sounds like you like to poke the bear about certain fire companies “dumping the call” Is that right?
The thin red line keeps getting thinner. Doesn’t it? LOL
You can't handle the truth says
Well, we know your not that smart so….just so you know, it was put out with water.
Dumbass
Uranhasswwhole says
I never claimed to be smart.
I’m inquiring what your complex is? You seemed to have a “hard on” about making a big deal that other volunteer fire fighter companies respond to other area’s “calls”?
I thought all you guys were “brothers” and “watch each other’s backs.”
Duh says
Wow you are a jerk! Who cares who responded! At least the fire was put out. Joppa, Abingdon, Aberdeen, who the heck cares? You are a doof.
Fact Finder says
Aberdeen got there first with their truck. Bel Air, Aberdeen, Abingdon, Havre DeGrace Joppa all responded. Riverside does lack adequate fire protection in my book. Doesn’t change the outcome of this fire but most of the units that got out were driver only or had 2 people in them. The county should have hired paid fire crews to supplement years ago. Nothing will change the chiefs of the department and Barry don’t want the truth to come out. This is no longer little Harford county. Time to step up and hire paid crews.
Haco says
There is a donated plot of land along Riverside Parkway that is reserved for a firehouse that neither Harford County nor Abingdon Fire Co. has taken possession of to build a fire substation there.
