Emergency personnel were dispatched to the 1700 block of Philadelphia Road in Joppa just after 12:15 a.m. Monday for a reported fire in a one-story, single family dwelling.
Thirty firefighters from the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company responded to the single-alarm blaze and had it under control within 30 minutes.
The home is believed to be vacant. Investigators are still attempting to make contact with owner. K9 “Kachina” assisted investigators on scene.
The Office of the State Fire Marshal estimated $45,000 worth of damage to the structure and another $5,000 to its contents. The home is considered a complete loss. There were no reported injuries.
The area of origin and preliminary cause of the fire remain under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Northeast Region Office (Bel Air) at 410-836-4844.
