Pennsylvania Man Charged with Burglary, Sexual Assault in Aberdeen

From the Aberdeen Police Department:

On July 17, 2016 at approximately 1:30 AM, Officers from the Aberdeen Police Department responded to a sexual assault in the unit block of E. Bel Air Avenue.

Investigation revealed that 27 year old, Xavier Raul Vega-Miranda from York, Pennsylvania was attending a birthday party at in an apartment building located in the unit block of E. Bel Air Avenue. Mr. Vega-Miranda followed a 13 year old attendee of that party to his nearby residence. Once at the residence, Mr. Vega-Miranda entered the apartment without permission of the 43 year old renter and victim. The victim told Mr. Vega-Miranda to wait at the front door and escorted her son to a nearby room where she questioned him as to why Mr. Vega-Miranda was at the home. During questioning, Mr. Vega-Miranda is alleged to have grabbed an item that the 13 year old was holding and entered the room where he proceeded to shut and lock the door. Mr. Vega-Miranda then exposed himself, grabbed a hold of the victim, and tried to pull her pants down while pinning her against the wall. Mr. Vega-Miranda groped the victim during this process. The victim told Mr. Vega-Miranda several times to get off her however he continued to force himself upon her. The victim was able to yell for help at which time her 16 year old son came to his mother’s assistance. The victim shoved Mr. Vega-Miranda out of the room and her son pushed Mr. Vega-Miranda out of the apartment and into a hallway and at that time fled the area.

Mr. Vega-Miranda was later located in the 2400 block of Pleasantville Road by the Harford County Sheriff’s Office. The investigating officer responded to that location and placed Mr. Vega-Miranda under arrest. Mr. Vega-Miranda was transported to the Aberdeen Police Department for processing. Mr. Vega-Miranda has been charged with two counts of burglary and several counts of assault relating to the incident.
