A woman is dead after an early morning motor vehicle crash in Harford County.
On June 27th, 2016, at approximately 6:38 a.m., Harford County Sheriff’s Office deputies assigned to the Northern Precinct were dispatched to the scene of a crash on Mine Branch Road in Street. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a single vehicle collision. The driver of the vehicle, and sole occupant, was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver is identified as Amy Sue Kahl, 41, of Mine Branch Road.
Preliminary information gathered at the scene indicates at approximately 4 a.m., the 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling on Mine Branch Road in the direction of Ady Road when it left the roadway and struck a tree. An area resident discovered the crash at approximately 6:30 a.m., and called 911.
Deputies assigned to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit responded to the scene to assume the investigation into the cause and circumstances of the crash. Initial investigation indicates speed and alcohol may have been factors in the crash. The victim was not wearing a seatbelt.
