From Visit Harford!
Fans of everything from folklore to farm life will find a festival to suit their interest in Harford County this summer. The area is hosting a wide array of events that begin in June and continue through August.
Among the attractions this summer:
· Havre de Grace Celtic Culture and Fiber Festival, June 4-5, Steppingstone Farm Museum, Havre de Grace
Celebrate Celtic heritage with music, food, dancing, Scottish clan displays, sheep herding demonstrations, blacksmithing, woodworking and more. Admission ranges from $10-12.
· Maryland Faerie Festival, June 11-12, Camp Ramblewood, Darlington
Come celebrate the faeries and enjoy the pageantry with games, crafts, storytelling, magic, music and more. Ticket prices vary. Camping available for an additional cost.
· Havre de Grace Pirate Fest, June 11-12, Susquehanna Museum at the Lock House, Havre de Grace
Channel your inner swashbuckler on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay. Visitors can explore a pirate encampment, attend the Buccaneer Bash or even run in a Pirate 5K (eye patch optional). Event prices vary.
· Blues and Brews Festival, July 23, Steppingstone Farm Museum, Havre de Grace
You can even bring your dog (on a leash) to this festival featuring live music, food trucks and local beer and wine along the scenic banks of the Susquehanna River. Ticket prices vary; VIP tickets include event t-shirt, wine and beer tickets, priority parking and early entry.
· Harford County Farm Fair, July 28-31, Harford County Equestrian Center, Bel Air
Annual event to promote Harford County agriculture and youth involvement in 4-H, FFA, and Ag Magnet Program. Includes cooking and home arts contests, carnival, tractor pulls, live entertainment, rides and numerous other events and activities. Ticket prices vary. Free parking and shuttle service.
· Maryland BBQ Bash, August 12-13, Bond & Thomas Street, Bel Air
This barbecue-themed street festival features live music, top quality barbecue, crafters, a farmers’ market, beer and wine garden and children’s entertainment. The Maryland State BBQ Championship will have more than 50 entrants competing for $12,500 in cash prizes. Free admission.
