The Harford County Council is seeking a volunteer to fulfill a vacancy on the People’s Counsel Citizens Advisory Board. The Advisory Board provides guidance and makes recommendations to the People’s Counsel regarding any matter referred to them by the People’s Counsel, County Council or as requested by any citizen or group of citizens of Harford County. The People’s Counsel Citizens Advisory Board reviews all zoning appeal and reclassification requests.
The Advisory Board consists of seven members appointed by the Council. Citizen members serve a four-year term which is coterminous with the term of the County Council. The Board meets the 4th Tuesday of the month unless otherwise noted. Regular meeting attendance is important in maintaining the continuity and effectiveness of the board. Peoples’ Counsel Citizens Advisory Board members serve without compensation.
Any Harford County resident interested in applying should send a letter of interest, a completed application and a summary of qualifications to mdixon@harfordcountycouncil.com
The Letter of interest should include reasons for interest in being appointed and disclosure of any relationship to Harford County government or its elected or appointed officials, such as family members employed by the county or business contracts within the County.
