The Harford County Education Association announced its endorsement of Johnny Boker for Havre De Grace City Council.
“Mr. Boker has spent a lifetime in public service. As a decorated combat veteran who served 22 years in the U.S. Army, Mr. Boker understands commitment. The citizens of Havre de Grace, our students and our teachers will be well-served by Mr. Boker’s dedication to his community and public education,” said HCEA President Ryan Burbey. “Mr. Boker’s commitment to service and transparency combined with his wealth of knowledge and experience make him an outstanding candidate for local office. HCEA is proud to endorse Mr. Boker for Havre de Grace City Council”
HCEA vets all candidates for endorsement through a careful selection process, which includes completion of a questionnaire and interviews with educators. All candidates were given the opportunity to participate in the HCEA endorsement process.
This is about the same as being endorsed by The New Harford Democrat Club. The City council in Havre de Grace has no influence with the school board.
I don’t understand why HCEA even cares about this. I didn’t see them have an endorsement for any candidates yesterday.
It is all about future payoff. They are grooming candidates for school Board which will beholden to HCEA when they run for school board.
