From the Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal:
A team of Deputy State Fire Marshals along with investigators from the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms Fire Investigations Division are continuing to probe into the origin and cause of a two-alarm blaze at the 3-story,12-unit Brentwood Manor Condominiums located on 1005 E. Jessicas Court in Bel Air.
Harford County Sheriff’s Deputies were the first to arrive at the 7:02 p.m. fire and quickly assisted an adult female occupant to escape the uncontrolled blaze. The victim was transported to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center for evaluation of unrelated non-life threatening injuries.
Nearly 60 firefighters responded from area fire departments and controlled the blaze within one hour after arrival on the scene. Eleven families are being assisted by the American Red Cross as result of the fire.
A current loss damage estimate for the structure and contents is valued at $1.2 million dollars.

I assume this was on Tuesday night. No where in the article does not mention that. Basic rule of journalism: Who, What, WHEN, Why and Where.
Don McCreesh says
Wouldn’t that be considered profiling?

I believe that this is the publication of a press release prepared by the Fire Marshall’s office rather than an article written by a Dagger contributor.
“No where in the article does not mention that.” Do you mean, “The article does not mention that.”? or perhaps, “Nowhere in the article is that mentioned.”?

Terrible fire. Good picture.

Do these condos/townhouses have fire breaks between the units? Seems like this fire spread very quickly.
Jess says
Older ones don’t. When I lived in Hickory Hills, I watched one go up like a haystack. The shared ventilation means the fire quickly vents to the roof. I hated living in a condo, knowing that at any moment, someone’s carelessness in their maintenance of their unit, or personal habits could lead to utter destruction. Hickory Hills can’t seem to go more than 3 years in a row without burning a building down.

One would think a fire break would be mandatory in these applications. Or brought up to 2016 code after a tragedy like this, breaks, sprinkler systems…
A Realist says
Sure? Feel free to rebuild the apartments to “code”
Oh, that’s right, you aren’t because you ain’t be spending your money on that.
Me? I’m definitely not going to either, asshole.
A Realist says
Is that the best name you could come up with, asshole? Did you live in one of those units?
