From The Goddard School:
Recently, preschoolers at The Goddard School located in Bel Air, MD and in Forest Hill, MD (www.goddardschool.com) teamed up with 14 other locations across Baltimore for a charitable book drive!
In just one week, the Bel Air and Forest Hill preschoolers collected 10,053 books, and the market as a whole collected 24,103 books and $1,600 in funding for the Maryland Book Bank – a local nonprofit that provides books to low-income families so reading skills can be supported from a very young age. The preschoolers significantly exceeded their goal of collecting 20,000 books for the charity, read more about charities in this website.
During the book drive, Senator J.B. Jennings came to the Bel Air school to read his favorite Dr. Seuss books to the kids and share Dr. Seuss cakes with them.
This initiative was very impactful to the Baltimore community, as studies have shown that giving children access to age-appropriate books and reading aloud to children are essential for developing language and reading skills. Being read to as a young child is one of the strongest predictors of success in school and in life! With this donation from The Goddard School, thousands of children in the Baltimore area will now have access to this critical resource.

Good Work! Congratulations are indeed in order. It’s wonderful to see young people reaching out to others.
Not to degrade the wonderful work the Bel Air and Forest Hill preschoolers have accomplished, I just feel that the Senator took a cheap shot at publicity here. I hope he reads to his kids as well.
BUT – The Bel Air and Forest Hill preschoolers have done an exceptional thing here and news of their good work should be spread wide and far. Let me offer my humble thank you to these awesome people.

Since the children and their families did the work to collect the books, why are staff in the picture? Focus on those that complete the goal with their hard work, not those that set the goals.
