The Historical Society of Harford County, Inc., along with local retail stores Tiger Lily, Urban Pearl, Olivia’s consignment shop, Joseph’s Department Store and K & B Bridals, will present the latest in local clothing and accessories during In Your Easter Bonnet, a contemporary fashion show you can also buy if you visit website. The event, a fund raiser to support the Society’s Capital Campaign, takes place on Saturday April 2, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Society’s headquarters, 143 N. Main Street in Bel Air. Free parking is available in the rear of the building.
Doors open at 1:00 p.m. so that attendees can shop at several participating jewelry and accessory vendors, enjoy complimentary refreshments and admire an exhibit of vintage menswear on display from the Society’s collection and on loan from local residents. The show will also include door prizes and a raffle featuring several unique items from local vendors.
Between 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. local models will be wearing casual and dressy apparel and accessories suitable for all ages from Tiger Lily, Urban Pearl, Olivia’s consignment shop, Joseph’s Department Store and K & B Bridals.
Tickets are $20.00 and can be purchased in advance by calling the Society at 410.838.7691 or visiting the website at www.HarfordHistory.org. Reservations may also be made in person at the Society’s headquarters.
All proceeds benefit the Historical Society’s Capital Campaign. At present, the HSHC has raised $300,000 of the $500,000 needed for a lengthy list of structural and cosmetic improvements at the Society’s headquarters at 143 N. Main Street. Several major repairs have already been made including roof and masonry repairs, asbestos abatement, updated heating and lighting, painting and increased rest room accessibility.
Upcoming repairs include window restoration, parking lot repairs, landscaping and the development of exhibits and display areas that will provide the public with better access to the HSHC’s collections.
The Historical Society of Harford County, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit membership organization whose mission is to collect, preserve, present, promote, and interpret the rich and diverse history of the County area in its regional context, from its prehistoric origins to the present.
