On Monday, February 29, 2016 at around 0129hrs officers with the Aberdeen Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Post Rd at Greene Ave. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 32-year-old Raymond Dawkins of Woodbrooke Ave in Baltimore.
Officers learned that Dawkins’ Maryland Driver’s license status was revoked. While officers were conducting their investigation the rear seat passenger exited the vehicle and discarded what officers believed to be a controlled dangerous substance or contraband. Officers immediately engaged that subject and a struggle ensued.
During the struggle officers radioed for assistance. One officer who was responding to the scene was involved in a single vehicle accident on Rt 22 near Rogers Street that rendered the vehicle partially disabled. The vehicle was able to travel to within approximately a half mile of the traffic stop where the officer then ran on foot to assist fellow officers.
Officers were able to gain control of the suspect and place him under arrest. He was identified as 34-year-old Brandon Lee Watson of E. Bel Air Ave in Aberdeen.
Watson was initially transported to Harford Memorial Hospital for a medical emergency and has since been released.
Two officers who were involved in the altercation with Watson were also treated at Harford Memorial Hospital for injuries and have also been released. The officer involved in the vehicle accident was taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma where he is under observation and is listed in stable condition. A personal injury attorney has been contacted by the victims. Check out this site if you’re looking for a personal injury law firm.
Brandon Watson is in police custody and has been charged with first and second degree assault, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana more than ten grams and possession of PCP. You can browse around here to know more.
What says
Aberdeen is really becoming a sewer. They should rename Aberdeen, Edgewood North.
Move to opportunity is really working out well.

What says is another jucking ferk.
Snooty says
Edgewood North is already taken, Abingdon has that moniker now.
HYDESMANN says
More vermin. They were just starting to turn their lives around. Probably heading to church or to the outreach center.
Just Sayin' says
It appears as though the most severe injury resulted from the traffic accident the responding cop was involved in. Maybe they should be subject to additional defensive driver training? One thing is certain, the officer involved in the “single vehicle accident” (read…he “effed up”) won’t be charged with reckless driving, AND the taxpayers of Aberdeen will pay for the vehicle and property damage!)
RTFU says
No, it is quite possible that if the officer was found to be at fault, he / she could be forced to pay for a portion of the repairs. During the investigation, it is quite possible that he / she could be subject to a traffic citation for whatever they deem necessary. That is usually par for the course, although rarely publicly mentioned.
The rest would be repaired / replaced under insurance. Taxpayers don’t have to necessarily pay for a new car.
If you desire to know the outcome, you can inquire at the Aberdeen PD, those cases are not sealed and are open to public release.

I must have missed where racism came into this before you brought it up? I mean, it is par for the course on Dagger comments, but I just don’t see it here yet…
