Join Hall of Fame baseball player Cal Ripken, Jr., at a book discussion and signing on Monday, March 1, at 6:30 p.m. at the Abingdon Library, 2510 Tollgate Road in Abingdon.
He will discuss and sign copies of “The Closer,” his newest children’s book. Joining Ripken will be the book’s co-author, Kevin Cowherd. Ripken will sign copies of “The Closer” and be available for photos with guests. Please note that the signing will include just the book, “The Closer.”
Single tickets to the event cost $50 per person and include a copy of the book and a voucher for a ticket to a 2016 Aberdeen IronBirds game. A “Double Play” ticket for $90 includes two tickets to the March 1 event, two copies of the book and two vouchers to an IronBirds game in 2016. Festive fare will be provided by Jarrettsville Creamery & Deli and Coffee Coffee.
Only 200 tickets are available for the March 1 event and may be purchased at donate.HCPLonline.org/Ripken. Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Harford County Public Library Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization established to raise funds to augment the financial resources of Harford County Public Library which operates 11 branches. The library serves more than 181,000 registered borrowers of all ages and has an annual circulation of more than 3.8 million.
