From the Harford County Public Library:
In honor of Black History Month, the Iota Nu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity book dedication was held at the Harford County Public Library Abingdon Branch. Copies of The Bishop Bond: Finding Yourself Through Family Roots by local author, Reggie Bishop, were donated and will be available at all Library locations.
The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. is the first African-American national fraternal organization founded at a Historically Black College and University. Omega Psi Phi Fraternity’s mission is to provide social action in the communities in which its members live through dedication to its four Cardinal Principles: Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance and Uplift.
Visitors to the Library are encouraged to check out the Iota Nu chapter’s newest addition to the collection. Details for additional Black History Month programs can be found on the Library’s website at www.hcplonline.org/celebratingblackhistory.

I’m not a fan of racially divided sections of the public library. An excellent autobiography called My Grandfathers Son was segregated in the African American Section of the Aberdeen Library. It was written by Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. Last I recall, Justice Thomas was responsible for court decisions for all Americans. It was a very well written and interesting book worthy to be read by all.
