From the Harford County Public Library:
Schroeder’s Beethoven, a musical tribute to Beethoven that is part of the Harford County Public Library’s Peanuts…Naturally exhibition, will take place Thursday, February 11, at 7 p.m. at St. Matthew Lutheran Church Chapel, 1200 East Churchville Road in Bel Air.
The free concert, presented in partnership with the Maryland Conservatory of Music, features pianist Duke Thompson and students of the Maryland Conservatory of Music. The performance is a tribute to the Peanuts character Schroeder’s love of classical music and particularly Beethoven.
Classical music was a passion of Peanuts’ creator Charles Schulz. Careful observers of Peanuts cartoon panels will note that Schroeder performs actual bars from Beethoven’s works.
Seating for the concert is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, call 410-638-3151 or visit hcplonline.org.
The February 11 concert is part of Peanuts…Naturally, an exhibition of Charles Schulz’s Peanuts’ comic strips, videos, objects and interactive stations on display at the Bel Air and Abingdon libraries January 29-April 24.
