From the Bel Air Police Department:
The Bel Air Police Department is currently investigating a rash of thefts from parked vehicles in the neighborhoods of Shamrock Park and Major’s Choice (Grayson Square, McCormick Street, Shamrock Road, Lee Way). The thefts are believed to have occurred between Friday, February 6 (7:30 pm) and Saturday, February 7 (7:30 am). In one of those thefts a loaded Glock .40 caliber handgun was stolen.
Additional electronic devices were stolen from these parked vehicles. The Harford County Sheriff’s Office is also investigating a theft from a parked vehicle which occurred along Hitching Post Drive. If you have surveillance at your residence and you reside in these neighborhoods, please note any suspicious activity between the date/times of interest.

Someone get a detective who can correctly read a calendar or do we have a precrime unit now?
I guess Chief Lucky chuckie isn’t so lucky with all the future crime.
Can you give the cheap shotting a rest. No police administrator can control these occasional incidents of crimes of opportunity which are probably committed by transient criminals. The Bel Air Police are a good agency doing a great job. Occasionally these incidents occur and even the best efforts of police can not prevent them. The Gahler people taking the cheap shots at Chief Moore need to ask him (Gahler), the high Sheriff, if occasionally there are heavy incidents of vehicle tamperings, malicious destructions, etc. which occur in county neighborhoods from time time to time. The answer will be yes. It has nothing to do with his lack of effort. The Gahler haters need to give it a rest. They look pretty stupid and very juvenile.
Hey ding dong, people are just having fun with the fact that the town of BelAir doesn’t know it is not Feb 7th yet. Why do you have to throw Sheriff Gahler and something that is not even being discussed, petty crimes, into the mix? Stop being so sensitive.
Maybe Jeff Gahler should focus on the fatal overdoses that his department is supposed to be handling. It’s absurd to be targeting a police chief and a town administrator in Bel Air when your own agency has issues. Shi$ or get off the pot Jeff. Let’s give out the total # of fatal overdoses to date that have occurred in Harford County Sheriffs Office Jurisdiction. Let’s quit playing games. Heroin had a big part in breaking into these cars and you know it. Instead of knocking Chief Chuck Moore why don’t you support him and supply him with assets. That’s the truth Jeff.
Say what are you sayin the Heroin is a Jesse Bane Legacy problem?
The last time I checked, the heroin epidemic is a national problem. Not, the legacy of Jesse Bane or any other one man.
I am pretty sure Sheriff Gahler has already done this since there are big signs up saying how many overdoses and deaths there have been in the county. Are you that much out of touch Chief Lucky? There is a big sign up on Main Street if you want to know what the number is.
@Stop Playing Politics and Grow Up says,
Are you living in a box? All over the news that Gahler is putting the numbers out there including this site. Big signs out in front of Sheriffs buildings. Get out of your closed little world and mind and you’ll see our county is doing a great job on the heroin problem!
Someone should take a look at Malachi Bodden and his brothers from Hayden Way. They are always up to no good and live right there. Hey have been in jail non stop off and on. I bet it’s one of them.
String em up!
How about a little more detail on a loaded 40cal Glock in a car. Was this a cops personal vehicle? Since the Sht State of Maryland does not have a right to carry law is the owner in trouble if not a law enforcement officer? If it was a cops private vehicle and he left it in car is he in trouble for leaving the gun? More details!!
How about you are an idiot. Period. To leave a loaded gun, unattended in a car!
Back to the Future Bel Air Style! Staring Chief Lucky as Marty McFly and Uncle Jesse as Doc Brown in their new DeLorean police car! Hey McFly? Hello? Hello McFly?
Seriously, the 7th hasn’t got here yet!
Bodden boys are long gone
That’s good news. Did they move or are they staying in one of our area’s correctional facilities?
Boy, and a loaded handgun being stolen occurs without an open carry law? Yeah, what could possibly go wrong there, huh, gun nuts?
If concealed carry or open carry laws were an option for law abiding citizens, guns wouldn’t be stashed inside of a car. This was a police officer or security guard that was irresponsible and should be charged.
Looks like Tom is trying his comedy bits here again. Don’t quit your day job, Myers. If Maryland had reasonable carry laws, fewer guns would be left in cars. Still, the person who did this was a moron.
