From The Harford County Chamber of Commerce:
The Harford County Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals Committee presented a check of $568.00 to the Habitat for Humanity Susquehanna’s Repair Program at their January monthly committee meeting, held January 19.
The funds donated were raised at the Young Professionals’ annual Breakfast with Santa on December 19th at Applebee’s in Bel Air. Volunteers from the committee, along with friends and family, gathered early that Saturday morning to serve pancakes to members of the Harford County community. Over 130 guests came out to support the Young Professionals to enjoy their pancakes, while children of all ages met with Santa to tell him their Christmas Wishes.
The Habitat for Humanity Susquehanna’s Repair Program assists low income homeowners to live independently and to keep them safe in their homes. Homeowners are qualified through a home visit and must also meet certain financial eligibility requirements. In the last year alone, Habitat made 50 repairs with the low income homeowners. Repairs they provide include Critical Repairs, Weatherization and “A Brush with Kindness” which focuses on exterior improvements including painting, minor siding/roofing, trim, landscaping and cleanup. Caroline Adolph, Director of Development for Habitat for Humanity Susquehanna and Young Professionals Committee member states “On behalf of Habitat for Humanity Susquehanna, our staff, board of directors, and most importantly, the families we serve, I sincerely thank you for an awesome Breakfast with Santa! I really appreciate all of your hard work in making this event a success! I know that my family and I had a blast, and families in need in our community will benefit from your generosity.”
