From the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Baltimore:
The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced today that a former owner of a group of internet sports memorabilia businesses has been charged in connection with a $2.5 million dollar fraud scheme.
According to United States Attorney Peter Smith, Joshua Aaron Shores, age 41, of Bel Air, Maryland and also of Ocean City, Maryland, is charged with Wire Fraud in a Criminal Information filed today in the United States District Court in Scranton.
The charge is based upon Shores’ alleged five-year scheme, between 2008 and 2013, to obtain money and property by dealing in counterfeit and fraudulent sports memorabilia. Shores allegedly created, owned, and operated internet businesses under the names of Dealakhan, LLC, Stadium Authentics, Autograph Showcase, Sunset Beach, End Game Sports, Authenticgraph, and others with facilities in York County, Pennsylvania and in Maryland, and used the businesses to traffic in counterfeit and fraudulent sports memorabilia.
Shores allegedly represented addresses of mailbox receiving services to customers as his business address, created and registered PayPal and Amazon.com accounts in his name and in the names of others to receive payments from customers, purchased counterfeit sports jerseys in bulk from China and affixed fraudulent autographs to them representing them to be authentic autographs of well-known athletes and sports figures, and also using fake certificates of authenticity. According to the Criminal Information, Shores unlawfully obtained approximately
$2.5 million dollars from buyers of the fraudulent items.
The Criminal Information also seeks forfeiture of real property located in Ocean City, Maryland, U.S. currency in the approximate amount of $140,000, and an additional amount of $26,000 in proceeds related to a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a sports utility vehicle. The government will also seek restitution for victims of the fraud scheme.
The Criminal Information was filed pursuant to a plea agreement entered into between the United States and Shores. The agreement, which is subject to the approval by the court, the United States and Shores. The agreement, which is subject to the approval by the court, includes joint recommendations relating to loss amounts, forfeiture allegations, and an agreement to pay restitution as determined by the court.
The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Homeland Security Investigations. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Michelle Olshefski.
Indictments and Criminal Informations are only allegations. All persons charged are presumed to be innocent unless and until found guilty in court.
A sentence following a finding of guilt is imposed by the Judge after consideration of the applicable federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
The charge of Wire Fraud is punishable by up to 20 years of imprisonment, a term of supervised release following imprisonment, and a $250,000 fine. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the Judge is also required to consider and weigh a number of factors, including the nature, circumstances and seriousness of the offense; the history and characteristics of the defendant; and the need to punish the defendant, protect the public and provide for the defendant’s educational, vocational and medical needs. For these reasons, the statutory maximum penalty for the offense is not an accurate indicator of the potential sentence for a specific defendant.
Harford Resident says
I actually liked the place after checking it out. I won’t be back anymore after hearing this, though. Who knows what kind of fraud he’ll try with the customers.
Snooty says
Plenty of other drunks and fattys in the County. I am sure your snootiness won’t be missed.
Harford Resident says
“Plenty of other drunks and fattys in the County. I am sure your snootiness won’t be missed.”
Perhaps not, but I still won’t be going back. Decent, honourable people don’t get involved in fraudulent activities.
Snooty says
I would guess not, but the fraud was related to sports memorabilia, not a restaurant.
That’s like saying “I will never watch a football game again, because one player punched his wife”.
taco says
You’re both retarded.
Snooty says
Fair enough.
Heather Hankins says
You don’t even know him.
Mike says
I do. He’s a scumbag, treats his employees like dirt, and asked us to do illegal things on a weekly basis. This comes as no surprise to me.
Snooty says
Oh really, Mike?
What illegal things? Short the customer fries?
Serve watered down drinks?
LOL says
Well, for starters, the PA Attorney General and additional Federal Law Enforcement agencies have done a length investigation into this accused individual that sold fraudulent sports merchandise – to the sum of 2.5 million dollars.
It says it right there in the entire news article, right?
Did you read the article?
Lulu says
What kind of illegal things?
Snooty says
Yes, however there was no mention of illegal activity at his restaurants.
Since Mike replied to a comment about the eatery, one could make the assumption that Mime either works at his Pawn Shop in Edgewood, or one of his restaurants. That is what I was inquiring about.
Did you also read the part about presumed innocent until proven guilty?
Dave says
Presumed innocent Snootman?? I guess you missed the part where you – ummm Josh – confessed and issued a statement as part of his plea. Minor detail I know.
Snooty says
You have a point. However, it said he went with a plea, never said he confessed.
You can take a plea without ever having to admit guilt.
snoball says
He treated my daughter like crap wen she worked there…. alot of them did….. they get wat was coming to them
Snooty says
Tell your daughter she can serve fries anywhere.
Bel air mom says
Snooty is drunk and obviously JOSHUA SHORES being a troller. You are a disgusting human being. I hope you lie awake each night thinking about how you will miss your kids. Thief. Jerk.
Snooty says
Tenth time tonight.
I am not Josh. I am having fun making people all pissy because someone dares present a different view than their own.
I do not drink alcohol, but I see the cravings are keeping you up at this late hour. Oh, Looneys just closed…you are probably waiting on your booty call.
What should I expect, Bel Air snootiness wins again. Lemme guess…you went to John Carroll and you live in a cookie cutter house off of Thomas Run. Your kids do 5 sports to make up for the inadequacies in your youth.
Nailed it.
Dickie Boner says
This Dude owned the property and now he doesn’t why do you suppose that is ? I know why, the Feds know why and ultimately the Judge will know why ?
Harford Resident says
I see in today’s (Oct 26, 2016) Aegis, page B4, a Harford County Liquor Control Board public notice advertisement noting the request to transfer the Abingdon Ocean City brewing liquor license to Donna M. Shores. I wonder if this is occurring in advance of sentencing in this fraud case? (It was denied, however, pending completion of required documentation.)
George says
So how is he able to continue to hold a federal brewery license?
Snooty says
Not the sole proprietor.
George says
doesn’t matter who owns the building, or how many partners he has. His name is on the ATF issued license to manufacturer beer. It’s public record. It’s crap beer anyway. Their “brewmaster” was just a gopher from another brewery. No real skill. Any one can dump a few bags of 20 malt in a mash tun and get it to ferment. It’s apperent that you will continue to defend this nit wit until the bitter end. Perhaps you were the one that spent your time in your basement sewing all the fake autographs onto the knockoff jerseys he was pimping on amazon. Both of you are dip shits.
Snooty says
No, accosting to the Harford County Liquor Board, Joshua Shores is not listed on the liquor license for this place.
Once again, I am not defending him. What he did was stupid and criminal.
Snooty says
*according
Bel Air mom says
Won’t be eating there ever again!
Snooty says
Good, you could probably use a diet.
Heather Hankins says
Why?
Snooty says
Preconceived notions that just because the part-owner is a criminal, allegedly, she is too good to eat there.
Failed High School says
With how fast (words) spread, its definitely bad PR. The conduct even though not directly connected is still reflected upon the business.
Look, we’re not talking about an executive of a business getting a speeding ticket, this guy is charged with fraud in 2 1/2 million dollars.
Bel Air mom says
No you idiot, I don’t support criminals. And he isn’t an “alleged” criminal. He is pleading guilty, admitting guilt.
Snooty says
No, you uninformed imebcile, a plea agreement is not necessarily an admission of guilt.
Snooty says
Furthermore, the aforementioned Mr. Shores is not the sole owner, nor is he even listed on the ownership documents.
Why should his business partners, and employees, suffer the loss of business because of your preconceived notions?
Ilovesnot says
How about people won’t eat at that dirty, gross, over priced dirt trap…have you even read the social media reviews…the place sucks!
Snooty says
Never eaten there, but if there is one thing about social media…it makes people take the time to bitch.
How often do you see anyone penning a “thank you” letter?
Joe says
If he pled guilty he had to admit under oath that he was guilty. You can’t plead guilty and say you are not or they will revoke the plea and your guilty of lying under oath.
Snooty says
An Alford plea is when a defendant enters a plea of guilty without making an admission of guilt. In other words, he pleads guilty but at the same time he maintains that he’s innocent. This is very different from the typical guilty plea where the defendant usually admits, in open court, that he’s guilty of the crime.
Forever Amber says
Don’cha just love the American justice system?
George says
This couldn’t have happened to a better guy. He ripped off every customer the first weeks that OC Brewing Abingdon was open by nature of a “pricing issue” with their POS system. The dirtbag can pack up and move to club Fed.
Heather Hankins says
Your an ass you don’t even know him.
George says
Try grammar, Heather. It won’t bite.
HAHA says
…and apparently, you don’t know the real Josh either. He’s schmoozed you & won you over by paying for shit for you. When/if the full truth comes out, you’ll wish you never defended him.

Damn! LOL

This jackass deserves this possible 20 years and so much more!!!! I cannot wait to hear what the final outcome is.

It is for sure him!

I am pretty sure he is holed up in a basement somewhere…possibly practicing the “suck and blow” getting ready for Leavenworth.
HAHA says
You are a stupid idiot for jumping on this page. Why don’t you talk about how much your kids’ mother, a well respected town realtor, absolutely despises you and will do anything to keep you from them? She knows what you are made of. Let’s talk about that troller.
Snooty says
For the umpteenth time…
I am not the signature heathen.
I am not defending his criminal actions. I am trolling the internet because it gets uninformed people riled up to see someone with an opinion differing from theirs.
The beloved realtor also has a criminal record…what does that say about all of these commentors so quick to judge?
The wife was in business with Mr. Shores, as was his mother and sister. Why are they not listed in the complaint?
If she hates him so much, then why are they always together? Why do they vacation together?
I am not privy to such inside information as you are…so based on your assumptions of me, I guess that makes you his ex, right?
Sally says
Lmao poor josh, have you nothing better 2 do before prison besides reply to every rude comment? Lol People dont wanna contribute their hard earned money 2 a place that obtains money thru theft. Shoulda fired ur bitch ass
Heather Hankins says
You don’t even know him.

Look this character up on Facebook. Lololol
Heather Hankins says
Please do. You will see he is a great father.
MadonnaJulio says
That’s why he did all of it. To build a legacy for his children. Yes, he went about it the wrong way. I’m sorry for those he cheated. Wrong is wrong. I feel instead of jail time, he should be able to work off what he owes & make amends. He really is a kind person & an unconditionally loving father.
LibLogic says
You must be kidding? How is he going to work off 2.5 million dollars? Seize his property, sell it and reimburse as many people as possible AND a lengthy jail term. That is the PUNISHMENT for your kind person for his kindness victimization of many many honest people. His children can still visit him in prison and then they will learn not to follow his example of success.

My name is Kharn Obamaand I support this message
Snooty says
No better deterrent than seeing a parent pay for their crimes, I agree with you.
Billy Nian says
I’m sure he will still be a great father…..during visiting hours.

“great”parents do great things at home AND in the community. Great parents have great character inside as well as outside of the home. A criminal swindler is not a great parent. A swindler has shitty character. A criminal swindler is inherently the opposite of a great parent. Saying someone is great with their kids when they are nefarious in their daily business is the echo of utter desperation.

Snooty says
I guess you didn’t get that discount you wanted because your fries were cold.
Kac says
Snooty and Heather are both of you sleeping with him? You are definitely defending him. He was not a nice man. He fired a nice man that he hired as an expert brew taster to get some of the brews in better shape because the gentleman kept defending the workers and because he refused to get involved in his illegal activity. Since he is trying to plea this out then more likely then none he 8s guilty and is hoping for a lighter sentence. He most likely wont get it.
HAHA says
I agree!
Heather says
I’m not sleeping with Josh nor have I ever. He is a friend and my kids are friends with his children. That is it!
Billy Nian says
I can’t believe you would let your kids hangout with a felon.

Nah…way too much inside “info” to be just a troller. Perhaps one of his buddies with a bone to pick with his ex.
Snooty says
Never met the guy. The ex is hot though, I’ll say that.
But people are making assumptions about all aspects of this guys life off of a poorly worded headline, and 3 paragraphs of vague information.
No axe to grind. Except against that soccer mom, Bel Air Mom, who thinks she is better than everyone. Probably a Brit.
Nobody with a K says
Geez, some of you folks act as if this guy did something to you personally. So quick to drop the guillotine on a guy who gave you a job, or didn’t give you a free drink or meal at his restaurant. We have real issues at hand with the murderer’s running wild on the street than a guy who scammed some people. Albeit for a lot of money, but at least those folks lost money and not their lives as you see in the inner city streets. Let the courts decide his outcome, not the internet.

Rachel says
He treats his customers and employees like shit. If you were among the people who lost their money to him with his scheme you would not be on here defending him. Only the people who work for him and are “friends” with him will try to fight for him. In the end he needs to be punished for what he has done.
MATT says
Buyer beware on all things. He’s being held accountable for that. This comment section should not turn into a Personal bashing. You have a gripe with him…take it up with him…In person…If no..well yeah that figures, let the court determine his punishment. The he’s a …and i once heard that he… and he should get…is all online BS. For real if you’re feeling slighted take it up with him, don’t get all macho on this thread.
Rachel says
It’s an opinion. You’re so quick go jump on everybody’s comment. I know who he is and how he acts. So please, be quiet. Just because you’re the manager at the ocean city one doesn’t mean you need to jump into any negative thing that somebody says about him, and trust me….there will be more.
Rachel says
2.5 million dollars…..just crazy
HAHA says
I know him as well. He is pure scum. I watched him berate his employees like they were garbage.
MATT says
Im not that Matt…FTR. I get it, people will be upset, but keep this at the least civil.
HAHA says
What’s civil about being a thief? I hope they close down that restaurant tomorrow. The employees will be better off looking for new jobs then tied anymore with this low life. This town will chew him up and spit him out.
Snooty says
Right, because they can go look for all of those “shovel ready” jobs Obama promised.
Snooty says
This is why the media is dangerous. You are all jumping on the restaurant…WHICH DID NOTHING WRONG.
Joshua Shores is NOT listed on the ownership documents for OC Brewing Co., he is NOT on the liquor license.
YOU judgy Mcjudgersons are so quick to blame one establishment…when it is not even in the scope of his criminal acts.
Harford Resident says
If he is not the owner, why is he quoted in the following article about opening the restaurant?
http://www.bizjournals.com/baltimore/blog/charm-city-flavor/2015/09/ocean-city-brewing-co-expands-toharford-county.html
“Owner Joshua Shores splits his time between a house in Bel Air and one in Ocean City, and he had been searching for space for a second location near his Harford County home for more than six months. “We want to focus where we can actually be there every day and focus on our brand, and Bel Air just gave us the opportunity where we could be there every day to keep an eye on things,” Shores said. Shores is hoping to open the second location by the end of October, after making some cosmetic changes to the space. When it opens, O.C. Brewing Co. will focus on “comfort food and brews,” he said, noting there will be add-ons to the Ocean City location’s menu, as well as beer pairing dinners and other events.”
HAHA says
He is the owner
Snooty says
I apologize, I was making my statements based off of the “justice.gov” article relating to this crime. That article states that he is the General Manager of both properties.
According to publicly available files including property records, tax records, and other licensing…the name “Joshua Aaron Shores” is not listed on any of the deeds for OC Brewing Company.
“Joshua Aaron Shores” is not a registered name on the Harford County Liquor License either.
So while Mr. Shores may be a shadow owner, the legal “owner” is another group of people entirely. Simply meaning, the will probably not be touched in any type of asset forfeiture settlement.
maybe says
If they can prove any of the 2.5 million he stole went to starting OCBC the corporate veil will be easily pierced. As stated in the piece the government is going after assets in OC. might be a condo might be a restaurant.
maybe says
from a recent article…… notice the word used, “owner”
“We wanted to expand, and the opportunity came about that there was a property in Harford County, and we jumped on it,” Josh Shores Sr., owner of the Ocean City Brewing Co., said.
He’s going to a federal pound in the ass prison.
Snooty says
‘maybe’ – Could, however it could be a part of the plea agreement to not go after the restaurants. He owns multiple properties in Ocean City. A few condos.
Regardless of what an article said, as I stated…he could be the “shadow” owner. Nowhere on any public filings or licenses is Josh Shores listed as an “owner”.
My gut is that he set it up this way, knowing this indictment was coming, and has such a massive ego that he had to spout off about being the HMFIC to the media.
How else is he supposed to pick up his female employees?
maybe says
He’s not that smart. They just changed the website today scrubbing Josh as the owner and his picture from the who we are page. He’s going to have to come up with 2.5 million to pay back his fraud scheme and a couple of condo’s ain’t going to fill the bill. My bet is Ocean city brewing is a distant memory before Josh reports to federal prison for a 20 year stay.
Snooty says
If he does any time at all. Even if so, my guess it will be at the “Martha Stewart” type low-security prison.
M Stewart says
Stewart didn’t rip off 100,000 people. Watch American Greed, cases like this typically get 10+ years and not in any country club.
Snooty says
Insider Trading is just that, ripping people off.
Stockholders got yanked while she made millions.
HAHA says
…just like “Joshua Aaron Shores” has never been listed as the “owner” of any of his vehicles or the homes that he has owned…
Snooty says
Dear Harford Resident,
http://www.oceancity.com/oc-brewery-gets-beer-wine-liquor-license-approval/
“Joshua Shores, son of OC Brewery owner Donna Shores…”
Guess that makes your point that a single news article certainly provides the proof to your pudding.
zeb says
That is interesting especially when you look up all the people who have won law suits against ocean city brewing for not paying their bills and Josh was named as a defendant every time with no mention of a Donna.
LOL says
OCEAN CITY — A local restaurant owner charged late last week in an alleged $2.5 million counterfeit sports memorabilia scheme has reached a plea agreement that will include the forfeiture of certain real estate and other personal property, but it appears his resort business will not be included on the list.
On Friday, Ocean City Brewing Company owner Joshua Shores, 41, of Pennsylvania and Ocean City, was charged in U.S. District Court in connection with a $2.5 million fraud scheme involving counterfeit sports memorabilia sold over the Internet through his various companies over a period from January 2008 to May 2013. Shores, who owns and operates the Ocean City Brewing Company in the resort, allegedly created various Internet businesses in Pennsylvania and Maryland to traffic counterfeit and fraudulent sports memorabilia.
Shores has entered a plea agreement in U.S. District Court although the plea has not been formalized. He faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison, along with a maximum fine of $250,000 along with the forfeiture of a residential property on Chicago Ave. in Ocean City, various vehicles and other personal property allegedly obtained through the proceeds of the fraud scheme. However, not listed among the property included for potential forfeiture is the Ocean City Brewing Company on Coastal Highway in the resort, nor its sister brewery and restaurant operation in Bel Air, Md.
According to the charging documents filed on Friday, Shores, through his various Internet companies, obtained counterfeit sports jerseys in bulk from China and affixed autographs to them including the signatures of well-known professional athletes and sports figures. Shores then sold the fraudulent jerseys along with other sports memorabilia through his Internet businesses with fraudulent certificates of authenticity.
“It was part of the scheme that on multiple occasions, Shores purchased counterfeit sports jerseys in bulk from China,” the charging documents read.
“He also purchased sports items such as mini-football helmets, footballs and baseballs from retail stores and a wholesaler. These items were used in the furtherance of the scheme.”
The charging documents assert Shores affixed onto the counterfeit sports jerseys and sports items fraudulent autographs purported to be the authentic autograph of notable athletes and sports figures. Shore allegedly rented mailboxes and established mail receiving services with companies located in Maryland and Pennsylvania. Unsuspecting buyers purchased the fraudulent memorabilia from Shores’ Internet businesses through PayPal and Amazon accounts he created.
In one example, in September 2012, a federal agent operating in an undercover capacity in New Jersey conducted an online purchase of a Cliff Lee-autographed Philadelphia Phillies jersey from Stadium Authentics for $249.95 plus shipping. The item’s description as it appeared on Stadium Authentics website stated “This is an authentic Cliff Lee Philadelphia Phillies Majestic Baseball Jersey autographed by Cliff Lee. This authentic jersey was hand-signed and the signature is not a print.”
Upon receipt of the jersey by the undercover agent, the item was sent to the MLB’s Authentication Department in New York. After reviewing the item for authenticity, a licensed Majestic Sports authentication group determined that the jersey was counterfeit. That is just one example. The charging documents assert Shores “fraudulently obtained approximately $2.5 million by selling various counterfeit and fraudulent sports memorabilia by means of wire communications in interstate commerce via his many internet businesses during the years 2008 through 2013.”
Shores faces 20 years in prison and a fine as high as $250,000, along with the forfeiture or personal property, including a residence in Ocean City, which were deemed to be obtained from the proceeds of the fraud scheme. However, nowhere in the charging documents is the Ocean City Brewing Company mentioned on the list of potential personal property ripe for forfeiture.
For his part, Shores over the weekend attempted to deflect any attention from the Ocean City Brewing Company in the resort, or its sister operation in Bel Air.
“I am sure everyone is confused and wondering what is going on,” Shores said in an statement released on Facebook. “There are a lot of negative untrue remarks being said and written about me, so I would like to clarify what is going on. Ocean City Brewing and Distilling Company will in no way be affected by my situation.”
In the statement, Shores owned up to the fraud scheme charges although there were a few anomalies between his statement and the charging documents. For example, he did admit purchasing counterfeit sports jerseys in bulk from China, but denied the autographs later affixed were fraudulent. In addition, he referenced building the sports memorabilia company for the last 30 years although he is only 41 years old. Nonetheless, Shores did own up to the fraud scheme he characterized as “poor choices.”
“If you want to know the truth, I imported Chinese replica jerseys and had athletes autograph them,” the statement reads. “By not using official sports jerseys, it tainted anything I sold and destroyed a successful sports company that I had built over the last 30 years. I just made some poor decisions that I deeply regret and I wish I could take back.”
Shores said in the statement he accepted blame and is pleading guilty to the charges to deflect attention away from his other interests.
“To keep a lot of business associates, friends and family out of this, I decided to take full responsibility by myself and plead guilty to the charges we negotiated with the federal government,” the statement reads. “I am not afraid of the rumors or shying away from what happened, again, I just made some poor choices.”
Shores said in the statement it should be business as usual for the Ocean City Brewing Company in the resort, regardless of his personal situation.
“I will now focus on the positive,” the statement reads. “Over the past two-and-a-half years, I have helped create and build Ocean City Brewing Company into what it is today and will continue to do so. Ocean City Brewing Company will always be a family-run operation, built on family values and with this philosophy, we will continue to grow and succeed. I want to say thank you to all my friends, customers and family that are standing by me through this and I appreciate the continued support.”
Snooty says
Umm, thanks for reposting the entire article? If you had read my comments before, Zeb Daud, or whatever, you would have seen that all public records do NOT list Shores as the owner, regardless of what is written in the media.
I know, I know…you believe that the media tells the entire story, unbiased, all of the time.
So from a comment on Shore’s own Facebook page, which is “Public”:
“I am sure everyone is confused and wondering what is going on. There are a lot of negative untrue remarks being said & written about me so I would like you to clarify what is going on.
Ocean City Brewing & Distilling Company will in no way be effected by my situation.
To keep a lot of business associates, friends, and family out of this I decided to take full responsibility by myself and plead guilty to the charges we negotiated with the Federal Gov’t.”
Basically, seems that he is covering for everyone else involved. Let’s blame them, too!
Josh says
With all that money you stole maybe you can pay your employees back for the hours they worked without pay. Am I right, Snooty? How’s that for illegal?

Wow, gotta feel bad for all those people he ripped off. Deserves the jail time.
Snooty says
Please tell me how anyone is not getting ripped off by all sports memorabilia in general.
An authentic Jersey, signed by “sports hero A” goes for $1,000. A grand…for a piece of cloth with ink on it.
A “real” Jersey goes for upwards of $300 at the NFL Shop. A Chinese replica goes for $30. Cant tell the difference…
Umm…I am no economics major, but I’ll get the replica and spend the rest in the BGE increases.
All professional sports teams are a rip off in general. Don’t get me wrong, love the sports, just not the drama over paying someone a billion dollars to throw a ball down the field and whine about not getting a cut of jersey sales. Poor you.

Wow! Seen this after our family visited there tonight for first time. Portions huge and prices fair. I don’t judge nor like to be judged. My son dropped food on his shirt. Guy came over handed him a shirt told him to change in bathroom and he would clean it up so it didn’t stain. Thanked the guy and tried to give him tip money and he declined and said hope you have a enjoyable dinner. Towards end of meal he gave my son his shirt in a bag little wet but stained free and was shocked when I found out he was the owner. Seen this a few minutes ago and I’m in disbelief.
Wow! says
Wow! Touching story about how nice you can be when you steal $2,500,000.00 of other people’s money and use it to open a restaurant! I want to be a nice guy too, where can I get my hands on that much money illegally, but at the same time, without being accountable?

I was just passing my experience. I’m still in disbelief after seeing this article.

Facts that you may be unaware of….
Shores is the general manager of both of O.C. Brewing Company’s restaurants, one on Merchant Boulevard in Abingdon that opened late last year in the former Joe’s Crab Shack, and one on Coastal Highway in Ocean City, according to Pilar Grasia, administrator of the Harford County Liquor Control Board.
Shores is not on the Bel Air restaurant’s liquor license, nor is he listed as an owner of either business; “he does, however, run both as general manager”.
Not the owner. Just because of one man’s huge mistake, why are you all punishing and bashing the place? It closes… The jobs go with it, and our tax dollars pay for more unemployment.
HAHA says
He isn’t listed in the ownership paperwork only because it is a formality. He listed his mother because he knew this exact thing was going to happen. Joshua Aaron Shores Sr is the true owner of OC Brewing Abingdon. Stop painting black white.
Snooty says
If they seize property, this won’t be part of it. The American way, cheat the system.
Many famous people who have done wrongbuse this very method to protect assets. Not Michael Vick, but others.
A formailty…but legal.
Yup says
Just like when the cops take the 100 grand in cash in the trunk of your car …. If you say it’s your moms they won’t take it. 🙂
Snooty says
Unless it is a felony drug arrest, then they seize the car and all assets inside.
Otherwise, that is a legal defense as long as the Mother comes under oath.
The IRS may want to talk after that, but whatever…

All these comments are nothing but a waste of time at the moment. Innocent untul proven guilty. Why so serious?

Former Employee says
Full Statement from Joshua Shores
“I have pleaded guilty because I am guilty of obtaining and selling sports memorabilia which should not have been sold to the public. I apologize to anyone who was hurt or damaged by purchasing items which should not have been sold. I have taken responsibility for my actions by agreeing to plead guilty and I trust in the court system to impose a fair and appropriate punishment for my misconduct. I also apologize to my family and friends whom I have let down and disappointed by my actions.
“In the several years since any illegal sales stopped, I have worked hard to rebuild my personal and business life. I have assisted in starting new businesses and worked hard to comply with all applicable laws and regulations. Once I have fulfilled my responsibilities to any victims and the court system, I look forward to resuming many lawful business ventures and making amends for my bad decisions which led to these charges.”
Ghost says
As a former employee how do you know this? And again, as a former employee… Why do you care?
Snooty says
If this is factual, I stand corrected. I was wrong.
He did plead guilty.
Hmm.
Ghost says
As a current employee…I’d like to say that josh has been nothing but fair and kind to us all. We are treated like family and he makes that known. I love these comments from people who know NOTHING about our restaurant. We’re a family. Josh treats us as such. These comments cut deep. I pray this all works out. ?
True says
I agree. They know nothing about the restaurant we work hard for. Josh has always been nice to everyone and has made our restaurant feel like a family. I’m sorry to all of you who feel like you can weigh in so quickly to someone you don’t talk to on a regular basis. I’m sorry that you have nothing else better to do then to quickly judge someone. Either way I will continue to go back to my family daily, work with them, and provided for my household.
Wake Up says
He’s a criminal, maybe he will serve time locally and you guys can visit him. He such a nice guy get him lots of soap on a rope.
True says
I’m sorry but did he hurt you directly? If not then calm yourself down. I’m going off of what I know and whom I’ve worked with. I’m sorry your so blind with hate towards someone who didn’t immediately impact you. At this point I’m done responding to this ridiculousness. Goodbye and good luck with your hatred. I will still love the business.

I have been in this dump in Ocean City before. The acoustics are terrible. There can be 10 people in there and and you think there is 10,000. Brewery used to be a lumber yard. Bunch of Carpet Baggers that all you have to do is throw money at a business to make it successful with no experience or skill

Snooty says
If you bothered to read instead of jumping into the ignorance bandwagon…I was not defending or his criminal actions.
Sword of Light says
No, but you did wonder aloud why the ex and his family aren’t going down with him since they were all part of the scheme. Sounds like you know too much to be a random internet troller.
I do agree that it would suck to have this sink the restaurant. I’m never in favor of people losing jobs.
Snooty says
I never said they were part of the scheme, I said that they were in business together. Were they part of this business? Don’t know.
Someone accused me of being the guy in question, which I am not. They made statements to how his “ex” was a well-respected realtor in the area. While that may be true, she also has a criminal record (publicly available).
Using the same arguments that the snotty upper-crust of Bel Air (see Bel Air Mom) have been using on this thread, they should not use her realty services based on the assumption that she is a horrible person for doing something wrong once in her life.
While the crimes may not be comparable…the arguments that some are making are fekin’ stupid.
USUCK says
For 5 years this man ripped off innocent people, some of whom may have been kids. Now he has come into our town, opened up a restaurant (read the facebook reviews of this place by the way, it is TERRIBLE) and expected innocent people to continue to support him. He continues to profit from the public, even if he now he is doing so “legally.” He is a disgrace. While I do feel sorry for the employees there, they should all be searching for new jobs.
Snooty says
Why? What did this place do wrong?
Snooty says
Show me where, on any social media site, people write rave reviews about a place? People only take to social media to share their disappointment, or disgust, for a place because they think that will give them 15 minutes of fame…and they might get something free.
Hoppy117 says
As a PROUD employee of Oc Brewing Co, I appreciate and admire Josh Shores coming forward and taking responsibility for his mistakes. Majority of comments have little or nothing to do with the restaurant itself. To those of you who have never made a mistake and won’t be returning I will miss the pleasure of serving you delicious menu items in a family atmosphere. Those of you who will be returning I look forward to seeing you again!
The real snooty says
There is a difference between a mistake and a Felony…just sayinnnnnn
Snooty says
Dear Hillary Voter,
At least he is admitting and seeking atonement. Much more than we can say for half the criminals in our government.
The real snooty says
I’d figure you’d be the Hilary voter since you are condoning these criminal actions and defending a soon to be felon. Hillary deserves to be tried for murder and this guy deserves to rot in jail with her.
Snooty says
Show me where I was defending him? I wasn’t, and have made repeated comments on that fact. He is a dumba55, and (agreed) a criminal.
Not condoning the criminal actions. Again, show me where so I may correct that.
What I “AM” doing, is trying to run a little interference to the quick-to-judge people on this thread. Trolling…because it’s fun.
The real snooty says
And seeking atonement? The dude got caught and had almost no other way out. If he didn’t plead out he would have probably faced an even harsher punishment in court. He’s is only sorry he was caught like every other loser
Snooty says
True, no argument here. Kudos to the American Criminal Justice System for allowing this type of activity over and over.
The public statements only came in light of the plea agreement, and the eventual butt-thumping he will take at a Federal Prison.
Harford Resident says
” I appreciate and admire Josh Shores coming forward and taking responsibility for his mistakes. Majority of comments have little or nothing to do with the restaurant itself.”
They have EVERYTHING to do with the Mr. Shores’ ethics and values. Scamming customers for millions of dollars is not an innocent mistake. It is a conscious, planned decision to defraud those people who purchased items in good faith. If he would think nothing if committing such a criminal act in one business, what makes you think he wouldn’t do the same in a different business? A leopard usually doesn’t change it’s stripes.
Snooty says
Yes, restaurant fraud is an epidemic in this country and must be stopped.
You caught him. He is importing banned beef for his burgers, and using black-market potatoes for fries.
The beer he serves is not really beer, it is fizzy water with yellow food coloring.
DAMMIT! WHEN WILL THIS MADNESS END WITH THESE DANGEROUS CRIMINALS?
You Know My Name says
Dude, there is no such thing as a PROUD employee of OCBC. Putting it in uppercase letters doesn’t exactly drive the point home, Chief. People who are “proud,” (sorry…”PROUD”) to work for a criminal scumbag like Joshua “I-Can’t_Keep-A-Brewer” Shores is either lying to themselves, delusional, or has a very, very low bar for what warrants pride.
You admire that he came forward and admitted his “mistakes.” Dude, a mistake is when you accidentally or thoughtlessly do something wrong or incorrect. Josh didn’t make a mistake. He deliberately and with forethought and malice committed a series of crimes against innocent and unsuspecting people. So many, in fact, that the final tally of everything he ripped people off for was in the low seven figures. That’s not a “mistake.” That’s a pattern of criminality. He didn’t “come forward” so much as he “got caught.”
It’s a shame. OCBC had so much potential. Now, most of the city regards it as a joke. The beer is mediocre at best, and certainly not up to the standards of other local breweries. The food there is okay, but wildly overpriced. The specials aren’t special, at all.
Quick story about the beer: They had a beer called the Nuckin’ Futz. Brown ale. I don’t like Brown Ales, but I dug this one. It had a very breakfast-y, mapley flavor to it, with a sweeter finish that was just dry enough. Sold great. One of the batches went bad, somehow. It took on a skunked, sour flavor to it. It was gross. Instead of tossing it, Josh renamed it the “Nuckin’ Sour.” He claimed at the time that he paid someone to come in and take cultures of the bad batch to see if it was safe to drink, and if the bacteria (or yeast? I can’t remember, it was a while ago) that had grown in it was the same kind of material that was present in Sour-style beers. He claimed that everything passed the safety test and that we were good to go. We were essentially selling beer that had gone bad, and marketing it as a “premium” selection. It was the equivalent of letting milk go bad, and then serving the sour chunks as artisinal yogurt. I was repulsed, but I couldn’t prove any of this was true. I steered guests away from the beer. Whenever someone ordered it, I tried to get them to change their minds. Most did. Those that didn’t always made just about the worst faces you can imagine when they took their first sip.
Good times.
Ashame says
It is a shame to see what you think is a successful local business is nothing more than the result of illegal activities ripping off unsuspecting people. What happened to family values and personal responsibility. This is a great example of the wasting moral base of a me first society. Enjoy your prison time, you deserve it. Maybe you can sell the place to Clark Turner.
Dave says
Well. Maybe he’ll revolutionize the prison hooch brewing business. I hear you can get a pack of ciggies for a pint.
Jessica says
I’m willing to bet that 2.5 million is only a fraction of what this piece of shit owes other people You know what’s free though being someone’s bitch in prison HAVE FUN!!!!

Know what else is free? A public education.
You should try making an educated point the next time you make a comment, using proper spelling and grammar.
Makes your point come across louder and clearer…much clearer.
My guess, he will end up in the same type of “prison” that Martha Stewart did. A White Collar prison for the rich. The only bitch will continue to be people like you who fell for his fake autographs because you pray to false idols and spending hundreds for a man’s autograph on a piece of cloth.
Who got raped in that scenario?
Joe Belair says
The difference is that nobody got hurt in Martha Stewart’s “crime”, while this ass took many for a ride.
Snooty says
Joe,
Yes, thousands of stockholders suffered a loss after her actions were made public.
Same thing…stealing.
Forever Amber says
Just because this person is a “nice guy and good father” doesn’t mean he wasn’t capable of ripping off unsuspecting people to the tune of over $2.5 million. If he is so contrite, let him repay each of his defrauded customers price plus interest.
As for his eateries, who cares? They don’t have a thing to do with his fraudulent sports memorabilia activities. His legacy to his children will be fines plus time served.
Snooty says
Yes, Amber. Well said.
Regardless of “why” he did it, he went about it the wrong way.
M Wilson says
It’s incredible the number of people on facebook that support this felon. How stupid can people be?
Snooty says
The same type of stupid people that would pay hundreds for a man’s signature on a piece of clothing.
Mary Jane says
Who’s his ex-wife the realtor?
Snooty says
They were never married. Lay off the weed and figure out out.
Her signs are everywhere, cute blond…apparently she is “well respected”.
A Realist says
Bet he doesn’t spend 1 day in jail!!!!
Just sayin says
Would anyone frequent any restaurant opened with stolen money? Who cares if the food is good or not. The business was built with ill gotten gains and should be closed if for no other reason. What’s next shopping at a clothing store opened by armed bank robbers.
Truth says
After reading yelp reviews on the food and how they were treated by josh, why anyone would eat there is really a mystery. Guess some people like to wait a long time to get crappy food and pay a lot for it. then get berated by the owner. Sounds like a new restaurant concept for narcissist megalomaniacs.
Snooty says
Yes, because nothing brings out the fantastic comments about a place than social media. People only take to pages like Yelp when they have a bitch, gripe or complaint.
But, since you believe everything you read on the internet…I have some Raven’s jerseys signed by Ray Lewis I can sell you for cheap…LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!

Alot of stupid people on his facebook page praising his courage! There is no courage in admitting a crime after thee cops got you and you plead out guilty. I got the friend and family being there but these lemmings think he was framed. I hope some of those “friends” bought some of his crap. But I bet the majority of his victims were hard working folks looking to get their kid a decent piece of memorabilia. Sad POS!

None.
He Sucks says
OC BC sucks. Service sucks. Food is marginal with small portions. Beer sucks.
You Know My Name says
Anyone defending Shores’ parenting skills as though that somehow absolves him of stealing from people is pretty aggressively missing the point. Think about this: he stole 2.5 million dollars from unsuspecting citizens. That’s a lot of money, and that’s a lot of thievery. It’s not as though he just committed a crime once or twice, or something. He didn’t shoplift, or jaywalk. He knowingly and willingly stole from people, and admitted guilt, as though he were nobly falling on his sword. Truth is, he got caught, and made a big show of not implicating his own family members as co-conspirators (you should get a load of his mom, incidentally. She’s just as dirty and rotten as her son, and co-signs on many of his shadier “deals,” yet somehow remains insulated against any criminal charges…thus far,) as though he were doing them a favor (he is, in fact, so objectively stupid that he thinks that by saying “I could have named names of friends and family, but I didn’t, because I’m awesome and loyal” that he is effectively sending a big red flag into the air for the ATF, IRS and FBI that other people are involved in his criminal activities. His lawyer must be losing his/her mind.)
Who cares if he’s a good dad? That’s irrelevant. I submit that if he had stolen from the people defending him, their tune would do something of an about-face. He’s not sorry for what he did. He’s sorry he got caught. There’s a discernible and important difference between the two. If I were the speculative-type, I would say that the only reason Josh suddenly decided to get into the restaurant business was so that he had an establishment that brought in a lot of cash, so that he could over-declare the place’s income and wash his dirty money over a long period of time.
And before people defend this tool by saying that I don’t know him, and so should not judge…I do know him. For a long time I looked the other way while I knew damn well he was caught up in all kinds of shadiness, which I totally regret. He treated his customers like garbage. Actually, that’s not entirely true…if you are an attractive female under the age of 45, he’ll treat you great, generally, depending on his level of intoxication. He’d also take people on brew tours and whatnot. He had a great work ethic, I’ll say that for him. But he’s a terrible human being. He has no issue with getting hammered during busy nights and verbally assaulting customers he has decided he doesn’t like. More than once he has almost gotten into drunken physical altercations with guests (he would shoot his mouth off, and then beckon for his bartenders and managers to take care of the situation for him.) He stole from innocent people on the internet, and he routinely underpaid (underpays?) his employees by altering their clock-in/clock-out times. If an employee from the kitchen forgot to clock out after a 13 hour day (almost no breaks, of course,) managers would often use that as an excuse to zero out the entire day, as though the kitchen employee never showed up. He has fired people for refusing to work seven days a week. He, without his employees permission, docked everyone’s pay .25 cents an hour to cover their “soda consumption.” Now, if you know anything about the restaurant business, you know that every soda, factoring in the cost of the machine, ice, cup, and the syrup, costs about 4-6 cents. That would mean, to justify Josh’s .25 cent deduction, every employee would have to drink 4 22 oz. sodas every hour. Truth is, Josh didn’t like spending so much money on actually paying his employees, so he took money from them and paid them with it. For someone working 30 hours a week, 50 weeks a year, they would end up paying Josh-tax to the tune of 340 bucks a year. Don’t get me started on the issue of sexual harassment. Fathers…don’t let your daughters work there, unless you’re cool with the owner and his extraordinarily creepy GM openly and publicly asking them questions about their sex lives, or if you’re alright with them putting their hands on their employees’ legs while making a snide, drunk comment about the employee’s shaving habits (yes, Virginia…this actually happened). I’ve worked in a lot of places, and I’ve seen sexual harassment before…but nowhere near this level in terms of frequency and creepiness. I am genuinely shocked that no one’s sued them or pressed charges against them for this juvenile, idiotic, and illegal behavior.
He has gone through more brewers in two years than most places go through in two decades, mostly due to issues revolving around Josh refusing to pay what he promised (ask around about the guest-brewer from Alaska if you really want to hear a story about Josh screwing someone with their pants on. Your jaw will hit the floor.) Ocean City, on the whole, despises him for his underhanded tactics and his sense of righteous self-importance. He is a good dad. I’ve seen it. I’ll admit it. And good on him, for that. The world needs more good dads. He also happens to be human garbage that will screw anyone over for a buck. For those of you defending him…if he had stolen thousands from you, would you still be singing his praises?
Snooty says
What an asshat.
Josh…not you.
AppliedTactical says
Employees of this place need to wake up, if any of the above is true. They should be running to the authorities to file complaints…there is no reason why young people (men / women) should be subject to such a vile and disgusting workplace. A workplace that would probably be a pretty cool place to work, if it were not for the fact that the General Manager is a hedonistic predator. Female employees be aware – YOU HAVE RIGHTS! Get educated on them, use them against an a**hole like that.
Drunk on duty? Fighting with patrons? I also understand that his children work odd-jobs in these places. Nice example you are setting! Like this guy said, for all of you defending his actions because he did it for his kids, is a laughable defense at best. If he were such a good father, he would have been setting a better example. Still can’t get over his groping and drunk on duty!
All one has to do is look at public records to see what a joke this Josh Shores is. Obviously thinks he is above everything with no respect for authority. 4 pages of traffic violations; multiple Protective Orders; filing assault charges against the boyfriend of the ex; Domestic Violence; Civil Judgements; shady business dealings with his ex- and LMS Auto Wholesale; and, of course, paternity issues.
Indeed, a “great father” and a shining example of a great citizen.

It gets even better when you do a little research, and interject FACT into those statements to further your trolling. Makes for a good day.
It has worked thus far, seeing as how all you have is to keep calling me the signature sorcerer and insist that you are right…when you are simply wrong.
Have a nice day.
You Know My Name says
He is not Josh. I know Josh. I know that he has the writing ability of maybe a sixth-grader. Maybe. To the point, I’m 100 percent positive that Josh would never think to use the word “heathen” in a sentence, nor would he understand proper use of commas.
Snooty has said, several times, that he’s defending Josh’s actions out of a sense of what I interpret to be devil’s advocacy (not quite “trolling, I think,) which is fine. People need to stop getting bent out of shape about what Snooty says. Be more concerned with the idea that Shores is a career criminal, and his Breweries are almost certainly a front to wash his dirty money. Leave aside that he and his managers routinely committed crimes against their employees. Leave aside his horrendous treatment of women. Leave aside his awful personality, and totally narcissistic worldview.
The man is a criminal. Anyone looking for proof of his illegal actions at the restaurant needs to look no further than any of his employees’ check stubs from the first Summer he opened to right around the end of last Summer. Those check stubs prove that management and ownership took money from employees without written permission. If you compare the check stubs against clock-in/clock-out stubs, you will often find that the numbers oftentimes did not match up, as management would, at their discretion, alter the times so they could save money.
Josh Shores is a liar and a thief. He is getting what he deserves.
Applied Tactical says
LOL, a sixth grader.

Meanwhile, the banksters continue to commit forgery and wire fraud and continue to get away with it on a much higher level of fraud, many many more victims, thousands upon thousands of homes fraudulently stolen, all across the country…and not ONE goes to jail, not ONE faces prosecution…..truly a sad, sad state of affairs.

Forever Amber says
I have not a clue as to how to stop this. There must be something we as citizens can do.
The only way I can think of to stop bank fraud is not have any dealings with them. Of course, I would like to see how to function in this society without having at least a checking account.
Does anyone out there in Daggerland have any suggestions about stopping this abuse?
Help, we are drowning in our own shit.
Snooty says
We should mate.

You are a weird prick, Josh!

Who are you calling Josh, me? Not my real name, but thanks for playing.

Pray you don’t have the unfortunate experience of meeting this bottom feeder. 2.5 million is just a drop in the bucket of his life of lying, cheating, and stealing. He has perpetrated a number of frauds and has taken advantage of countless others beyond the sports autograph scheme victims. Care to comment on tax evasion, tanning bed scam, guns, the list goes on?
Failed High School says
Well, for the future I’m going to ASSume that a guilty plea on this particular charge prohibits him Federally from being in firearm possession . As I understand it, a crime with a jail sentence greater than 2 years.
I guess he won’t be allowed to vote, either? Or did Maryland General assembly reverse that veto? Or what?
Snooty says
Do tell…
Cindy says
Let’s be perfectly clear here, there is more coruption within Harford County Government then this idiot.
Nepotism,,Real estate leases for college buddies. former Council President introduced bills for incoming County Executive big pay raise and also make it legal for former elected officials to get high paying job (Director of Administration ) then hired former Dagger reporter as Director of communication. Wake up Harford County! Between the local paper and the bullshit news blogs no one is reporting the true facts.
Mr. Wake Up People says
This guy is the biggest scammer around and yet people believe that he is just taking the blame to protect others? Wake up, this guy over 5 years, deliberately ripped people off to the tune of 2.5 million dollars (which is only what the Feds could prove, so I’m sure it’s even more). He then used that stolen money to build OCBC and had called himself the owner in all the news articles but now that he got caught, all owner references are removed where he could, to protect his business. The Feds should sell every bit of his equipment and furniture to pay back everyone he stole from. He shouldn’t make a dime. America is great isn’t it? Steal millions, open a new business with it, go to jail and have someone else run it until you’re out.
Check out his history, he had a criminal record and so does his mother. The ex, the realtor, even has a criminal record and from what I’ve been told, bought houses, cars, jewelry with the money she and this lowlife had from the sports business they had together. She should be investigated.
The whole situation is appalling. He treats his employees like crap, sleeps with them, he steals and lies but he’s a good father so somehow that makes him a decent person. People are so naive.
Bottom line, this guy purposely stole from innocent people over 5 years amounting to over 2.5 million dollars. He got caught and admitted guilt, how is that owning up when you’ve already been caught by the Feds! Wake the heck up! Just look at his track record. It speaks for itself. Total Lowlife.
justawful says
I hate this man so much you have no idea. I wish I could write here the things he has done to me and my family. He is scary. If there is a God he will be locked up for a very long time. I don’t know much about his ex or her role in his scams but I’ve been told she is very much a victim of his too. Love is blind. Please do not patronize his restaurants. They are all he has right now. He walks around them like a peacock, like he is king of the world. Losing business would be the best revenge.
Applied Tactical says
What kinds of things? Why are you afraid?
justawful says
He will figure out who I am, and seek revenge. He is insane. I am telling you.
Just awful X2 says
Just Awful. You are not alone. He’s a horrible person and fortunately I got out after a few months. He was a complete psychopath. He was great first month and then turned into a yelling lunatic. He lied, cheated and manipulated me constantly. It didn’t take long for me to realize how seriously insane and crazy he was. He could have really destroyed my life if I let him. He was that manipulative. I agree he will seek revenge and laugh about it after. Awful human being in my opinion so this comes as no surprise to me.
AppliedTactical says
How do you suppose he will figure out who you are? If you have further proof of illegal activity, take it to the proper authorities.
SoulCrusher says
You ALL have an awful lot to say about a man who has never been convicted of any crime of violence. I personally checked his record and he seems to be non-violent. His crimes seem to be a bunch of traffic violations. Unless you got proof, your comments are drenched in libel and defamation. Now I’ve been accused of the same here on the Dagger, but I’ve got court documents and other documents that prove everything I’ve accused people of to be true. So he sold some fraudulent sports memorabilia, big deal. He has to forfeit property and money to reimburse those he harmed. YOU ALL NEED TO LOOK AT THE REAL CRIMINALS IN HARFORD COUNTY, BECAUSE THEY RUN YOUR COURTS, YOUR COUNTY STATE’S ATTORNEY OFFICE AND YOUR LOCAL GOVERNMENT!
Just awful X2 says
You can still be criminal and not be violent. You can also seek revenge in non-violent ways. You can also see that people like him do not want to comply with the law and have no respect for anything or anyone. They think they can get away with it by manipulating and lying. He’s had success up to this point.
I’m glad you think that stealing 2.5 million dollars from people is not a big deal. I am addressing this man and this situation at the moment. Of course there is corruption in the government. No sh!t shirlock.
SoulCrusher says
Whatever, you have been making comments that seem to imply you fear for your safety. I’m calling BS on you and anyone like you. Your local government steals way more than 2.5 million dollars from the citizens of Harford County alone. Yet alone your corrupt courts and police. He conned 2.5 million dollars from many people and now he has to make amends. When does the Government have to make its amends? They don’t because you are all living in a Nazi Wonderland up there in little deutschland…..
SoulCrusher says
Oh and by the way, its not stealing. Its fraudulent sales of implied authentic merchandise. Everyone he sold to received an unauthentic item. Quite frankly, I find it hard to believe the FEDS actually got proof on the whole 2.5 million and have calculated it by his business records….
Sword of Light says
Don’t bother. It’s just a soapbox to rail about government, something, something, Marc Eaton, blah blah blah, Joe Cassilly, zzzzzz, Judge Carr…
Nope says
He purchased fake items then applied forged autographs on them. That is both fraud and theft.
The Truth Be Told says
Hey Sword, You Da Man !! But don’t forget to add, Sean Marston, Paul Quill, whats his name the ASA, Judges Bowen, Eaves and Plitt as well. LOL Thank you for the great laugh today!
SoulCrusher says
Judge Plitt had nothing to do with my case. Chris Tabone is the ASA and Sean Marston is a cowardly little glass jaw that cries if he sees his own shadow. Get it right or don’t say anything at all. Leslie….
SoulCrusher says
@Nope – If they received anything at all, its not theft. Its fraudulent sales. Doesn’t matter one way or the other, he is going to pay thru the forfeitures. Its kinda like when Sean Marston sells a pair of Diana’s panties but they we’re really Marcies’ panties. At least Marcie was smart enough to ditch Chris. I see Judge Carr tried to pull a fast one on that one too! The corruption will never end in Hateford County…..
Sheesh.. says
Oh for Pete’s sake, will you give it a rest? You were growing weed, right? That’s illegal. You don’t like the way you were caught breaking the law. We get it. Just because you need a chemical crutch to face the rigors of daily life – so you think it should be legal – doesn’t make it so. We all get it, we just don’t care. If you’d been innocent we could all get excited. But… you’re a criminal.
Forever Amber says
I suppose you don’t like throwing back a cold one after a long day either.
This gentleman shouldn’t have been subjected to the indignities of criminal arrest and prosecution. Marijuana should be legal, sold and taxed like alcohol. Too much money is wasted each year on marijuana busts.
I have yet to hear a good argument as to why it is illegal anyway.
SoulCrusher says
No, the Harford County Narcotics Task Force broke the law and violated the Constitution to gather evidence to convict me. There should have been no conviction what so ever. I was threatened into taking an Alford Plea by my own lawyer who delivered threats from the prosecution, Judge William Carr and the Harford County Sheriff’s Department. Absolutely NO evidence should have been allowed and the way the conviction went down disgraces the entire court system of Maryland. The only thing more disgraceful is the smell of Diana’s panties……
AppliedTactical says
It is not theft. Nothing was stolen, per se…Maybe some dignity.
Butt says
Not theft? so when you use someones name (sports figure) illegally to get money it’s not theft? What would you like to rename identity theft?
Applied Tactical says
Glad to see you have an active Juirs Doctorate and can enlighten all of us on the finer aspects of criminal law.
A signature is not Identity Theft. He did not try to use that persons identity as his own.
Still not Theft, nothing was stolen. Items exchanged hands.
Fraud and forgery are the crimes you were probably thinking of. Guess you were sick during that class in Online Law School.
Butt says
Actually the sports figures he stole signatures from did suffer a loss and would have a case for theft. Perhaps you should have taken the truck driving online course instead.
AppliedTactical says
Nope, still not theft / burglary / larceny / robbery under letter of the law.
Josh Shures says
I am not a psychopath as you all stated. I will have my day in court to clear things up. In the meantime please come to the resaurant and try some of our favorites. Forever Amber says
And after that, he’ll show you a nice gently owned bridge that he has for sale…
Cya says
When is this POS going to court???? How long does something like this take in the state of Pennsylvania????
Forever Amber says
Since this involves interstate commerce, it will have to be tried in a federal court.
Cya says
So how long does a federal case take..from plea agreement to court date?
Forever Amber says
It takes as long as it takes for the defense to run out of reasons why he shouldn’t be tried.
Duh says
There is no trial, he plead guilty. The court has to accept the agreement and sentence him. Can you read?
Cya says
Ok, Duh, you smart ass…how long will it take for him to get a court date to get sentenced then? How fast do these things usually go when there is already a plea?
AppliedTactical says
Can take weeks, months or years. Depends upon what motions are filed by prosecution and defense; what is presented to the court for consideration in sentencing; the already scheduled cases on the docket…etc…etc…etc..

I’ve only met Josh Shores in passing, but I have a few friends who know him well. These friends are not business partners of his, have not been “bought” by him, and are not sleeping with him. Apparently he is an introvert and somewhat misunderstood, but he is a good guy at heart. This conclusion was reached based on all the community service he apparently does for local youth, and financial donations he has made to worthy causes including the homeless, and he saved a couple people from drowning in the ocean a few years ago. I know there are two sides to every story, but it seems like this thread is filled with 2 or 3 people who seemingly have an axe to grind with Josh (likely disgruntled ex-employees), and a bunch of others overcome with schadenfreude.
Joe Belair says
How may ‘nice guys at heart’ set up multiple companies for the purpose of buying large quantities of counterfeit sports jerseys, putting fake signatures on them, and selling them with fake paperwork certifying them to be real. He stole at least $2.5 million dollars from trusting customers and you’re saying he’s really a good guy? I hope the skills listed on your resume don’t include ‘Good judge of character.’
Lanny V says
Okay, Mr. Know-it-all. How much money have you donated to charity over the past few years, how much food have you given to local shelters, and how many hours have you devoted to volunteering at local Delmarva sports camps and kids learning centers? How many cars have you donated to veterans assistance programs? When was the last time you pulled two drunk people out of the ocean, or bravely defended a woman who was being accosted by unruly drunks in the late hours on a lonely Coastal Highway sidestreet? When was the last time you offered a shoulder to cry on when an employee of yours was dealing with stress in her personal life, and even offered a place to stay? I’m guessing Josh Shores has you beat in all of those areas.
I’m not condoning the crimes he allegedly committed, but people on here are making him out to be the Son of Sam, which is bogus based on what I’ve heard from very reliable sources.
Good day sir!
Suuuurree says
Behold, everyone, Snooty has taken on a new name, and a new approach. What’s up, Josh, how’s business these days you psychotic freak?
Snooty says
How dare you, sir! Suggest that I would hide behind another anonymous-internet-handle? For SHAME!
Nope, I have never met him – don’t know him. The only information I have is what I have gleaned from reading publicly available stories, and the hilarious reviews posted by sheer morons on social media regarding the OC Brewing Company.
For the umpteenth time, I am not Mr. Shores. Not in any way. Just trolling, and all of you keep falling for it…so it is working 🙂
Hahaha says
I can’t stop laughing!! This is obviously someone desperately trying to perform damage control. You won’t convince the many people he treated like garbage as he played Mr. Big Shot Money I’m so successful Mr. Shores. Any one can make millions when their intentionally scamming the innocent. He didn’t care then and knowing Josh doesn’t care now and is playing the victim here. This guy is getting what he deserves. He never did those wonderful things. He’s a total fraud. Stop drinking the kool aid but hey thanks for the laugh!!!
Suuuree says
He probably really did offer the troubled employee a place to stay…in his pants.
Snooty says
He actually did help pull 2 people from the ocean, that was in a local paper. Since he was not a registered corporation, cannot find any paperwork related to “sizeable” donations made to various causes.
DISCLAIMER: I am not supporting him, just trolling with FACTS.
Snooty says
Trying to do damage control? Please.
Yes, they are desperately trying to save their tarnished name, and fend off the masses who are making an exodus from OCBC.
“I KNOW! LET ME UNTARNISH MY NAME BY STARTING WITH A POST ON THE DAGGER!” That will certainly show them!
Get a grip.
Laughing loudly says
I heard he bench pressed the axle of an automobile at a motor vehicle crash so fire fighters could free the occupants.
Snooty says
LOL
Lanny V says
So people on here post absolutely ludicrous stories about him peeing in the drinks of his customers, selling skunked beer, sexually harassing his female employees, and becoming drunk and picking fights with his patrons. Stories that are completely outrageous to anyone with a clue about how rigid the local liquor board and health department operates. And nobody questions it. The guy who was posting this stuff so obviously has an agenda, maybe he was denied a promotion at OCBC, maybe he was spurned by a girl who had affections for Josh (from what I understand, a lot of female employees and customers at OCBC throw themselves at HIM, not the other way around), or maybe he operates a rival bar and he’s looking to kick the competition when they’re down.
But when I post some of the positive things he has done for the city and others, I’m labeled as a spin doctor.
Logging off, feel free to flame away.
BS says
For only meeting someone in passing you certainly know a lot about Josh…..
Your narcissism will always get the best of you Josh…. Enjoy your time in prison, take time to reflect on life’s failures, learn something from it. Maybe you can start another crappy restaurant when you get out in 20 years.
Snooty says
No chance he gets 20 years.
Carol says
Yup no way he’s doing 20 years, any federal judge worth the seat will give him more.
Snooty says
Carol,
I am assuming that you are here just to add your 2c, but I urge you to read more and get more educated before you spout off your opinion on these matters.
The maximum sentence he can receive, under what he plead guilty to, is 20 years. Very rarely is the maximum sentence ever given, even in murder cases. This case is of little political significance, therefore, he will be well under that maximum if he gets “time” at all.
Federal Judges are nothing more than politicians these days. Look who they are appointed by.
Carol says
Unfortunately you are probably right josh and you won’t get the full 20 but your fraud scheme is very similar to Rudy Kurniawans and he got 10 years.
Enjoy your stay.
Snooty says
The lack of imagination exhibited by people in Bel Air is nothing short of dismal. The fact that several of you seem to believe, in your tiny little minds, that I am the Imposter of Signatures, the Signature Heathen…Mr. Shores himself, is laughable. I am, in fact, not Mr. Shores…I am not sticking up for him in his defense…I am merely here to portray devil’s advocate and offer competing theories backed by facts. The fact that the tiny little minds of Bel Airians cannot fathom that someone dares to go against their thoughts and opinions puts them in the same basket as when Obama and Holder cried “race” when things didn’t go their way.
If you need to believe it so that you can run around to all of your little gossip circles when you hang out at MaJerks, or Looney’s on Friday nights, then I suppose there is nothing I can do about that. I suppose it makes your year to tell your friends that you “discovered” a criminal posting anonymously (which you didn’t); you can tell all your stepford followers that you “told him what’s up” on the Dagger to make your life seem that much more meaningful, and give you that attention that you so yearn for.
However, sadly, you are incorrect.
While similar in nature, not similar in terms of legal and far reaching impacts. You see, Rudy was tried / convicted by a jury of “his peers”. Additionally, the case garnered much more attention since it had international implications (wineries in Europe). The jury sentenced Mr. K…not a judge alone.
Mr. Shores will be sentenced by a Judge alone. While he could very well end up serving some time in a lush federal prison, I highly doubt that he gets anywhere close to what some on this forum are calling for.
Joe Belair says
Why don’t you ask me how many fake jerseys have I sold to unsuspecting customers? No, I haven’t donated any money that I stole from others to charity. Yes, I am morally superior to Shores. Any other questions?
Snooty says
Who was questioning your unwavering morals? Al Capone was morally superior to this guy.
Harford Resident says
It’s really easy to be charitable when you are donating money you stole from someone else!

Surrrree says
Hey snooty if this ocean pulling story is true and made the local papers, where’s the link? How the hell could you know that if you aren’t really him?? Jerk off.
Snooty says
A wonderful new invention called, “Google”.
June, Ocean City Today. Go to the site, search, read. Simple.
Just because you don’t believe things, doesn’t mean they aren’t true. I said it made the “local papers” meaning in Ocean City. Why would they report that in Bel Air, you simple-minded putz?
I would imagine that there were others who know about it, since it happened during the summer…in Ocean City. That place tends to get quite busy in the warmer months. If you happened to come up from your mother’s tit for air every once in a while, you might find that there are other reputable media sources besides The Dagger.
Hahahaha says
Provide the link. Copy and paste the article, with dates. If you’re so smart, you should be able to figure out how to provide this information easily for people to view. My 7 year old could do it, so it shouldn’t be that difficult for you. I’ll wait for it ….
I don’t believe it for one second and would love to be proven wrong. Prove it. Go ahead because I would bet my first born that this did not happen.
Waiting …
Suurree says
I agree this did not happen as well. Poor lil Snoots trying so hard to get some positive press.
Snooty says
Yes, “positive press” as you mention. Because The Dagger readership is so high, and so widespread, that I am trying to make a case to save the reputation of the man. Suggest you read all of my other comments on this issue before making an idiotic comment like that to make yourself sound relevant.
Snooty says
“Aryans”, yes. You hit the nail on the proverbial skin-head, good sir /ma’am.
Snooty says
Hahahaha,
No. I will not. Your post reeks of sarcasm and snootiness consistent with typical Bel Airians, so you find it yourself. I gave you the tools, I gave you the month. You find it.
Since you seem to have an issue with using the internet, have your 7 year old find it. Remove your tit from his mouth, and look. There is a bigger world that your living room and all things “you”. Here is my clue, once again:
*A wonderful new invention called, “Google”.*
*June, Ocean City Today. Go to the site, search, read. Simple.*
*Note: You cannot copy / paste from an archived image of the newspaper, and The Dagger does not permit photos / images to be posted. There, a third clue. I am sure your enlightened 7 year old can take that and provide you the information you so desire.
Alas, I fear that this wall fall on deaf ears and you will turn up your nose and simply state, “I knew it didn’t happen”.
Your next sentence, in reply, will be similar to:
“See, told ya. I don’t believe it for one second. Didn’t happen, because my inner circle of socialites and stepford wives didn’t discuss it at gossip hour…”
comments on everything! says
The proper term is ‘ Bel Aryans’…. get it right l, Snotty.
dog piling on the rabbit says
OK, if this heroic deed did happen, how come the two people that Mr. Shores saved from imminent death are not on this forum collaborating this story? If their lives were saved, wouldn’t they feel compelled to come forward and testify how wonderful this person Josh is? Even if they live outside this area, I would think they’d want to publicly acknowledge this brave act.
Snooty says
Sure, because The Dagger has such a wide readership outside of the Greater Harford County metropolitan area. This article in particular is of such national importance, that these people need to go out of their way to appease your curiosity in this matter.
Even if they did, based on the comments received thus far, would anyone actually believe – for a fact – that they were the people in question? LOL
The article was dated from before he owned OCBC, so how would they know it is him? Did they bother to keep in touch after all these years?
I cannot speak to the wants and needs of other people, just pulling from what I read man.
Old Guy says
I went to Wegmans today because that’s what old people do before a snow storm, When I left at noon and drove by OCBC the lot was noticeably empty. So what do you all think would be a good tenant for the space when they close? I’d like a trader joes but don’t think another grocery store would be allowed.
Snooty says
Thank you for your excellent observation! I guess you didn’t happen to see the place last night during the Superbowl?
Hey, I guess they’re right senior citizens although slow and dangerous behind the wheel–can still serve a purpose.
Hahahaha says
Poor Snooty pants needs to use the biggest sporting event of the year to make a point that OCBC did in fact have some customers.
I hope the revenue made that night can hold them over for the rest of the year, Snooty Pooty.
Sooty says
Panda Express was busier during the superbowl and the and service and food was better.

Okay, so we are now comparing who was busier in the greater East-Edgewood area during the Superbowl?
Fine – the liquor stores were the busiest.
Drops mic………………..

Actually, I was not trying to make a point regarding the status of business at OCBC. I was merely offering a reply to the elderly gentleman who decided to share a point that was completely off topic of this conversation.
I really wish you would stop mentioning my pants, seems you want to get in them so much.

Not sure where it is, but if you do a little research –
A. Josh seems to be a habitual offender on the roadways – repeat offender for all sorts of traffic violations. Whatever, but let’s hope it stays contained to speeding and does not escalate.
Aa. Apparently, his ex and him had a pretty rocky relationship. It happens, but knowing her (and I do), she is pretty princessy (and not in a good way). Very vain, very egotistical, and one of the worst at judging you based on your zip code or HOA (like you don’t know the type).
B. His Sports Memorabilia business is pretty hidden on the intro-nets (yes, I realized I misspelled that)…no store front, no website…nothing. Various forums regarding memorabilia sales in the area have his operation to be shady, at best. Lots of comments and validated reports about forged signatures of athletes, misrepresented products, higher than average pricing, lack of customer service and support. Having never seen any of his products, I cannot lay stake to any truthfulness…but there are an awful lot of compelling posts (some with pictures and proof) and very little in the form of “Great Business” reviews. Regardless, if a fake signature on a Chinese baseball pays the bills….go for it, Americans are gullible, take our money!! LOL
C. He is also listed as an “interested party” in a Pawn Shop in Edgewood. Dirty places those pawn shops. Whatever, they are a gold mine for income if operated correctly…just don’t go there after dark. Regardless, with his newfound fame, you will only catch him at the bank depositing the money! LOL
D. He didn’t like to pay his contractors / vendors when opening the original establishment, and was sued (and lost).
Not trying to bash the guy, and sorry if it seems like I am…because I am not, but let’s hope it works out for him.
Beer in the Abingdon / Bel Air area? Especially the highly sought after micro-brews? Can’t wait for all of the hippies and beer connosseurs to come out of the woodwork and give their “highly relevant” opinion (yes, that was sarcasm).
Hahahaha says
Snooty,
You sure have a lot of negative things to say about people from Bel Air. You think you are above the rest? At least I have a life and a job and don’t spend my days trolling the Internet for kicks. Get a life Snooty Pooty.
As far as who is the owner, Mr Shores used his mother on the documentation because he didn’t want the business taken away from him because he used dirty money to build it. Yes, the paperwork says Donna Shores but he was the sole owner and ran both places. Another way to scam.
As far as the hero pulling people out of the ocean. Let’s just say I know for a fact that didn’t happen.
I’m sure Mr. Shores has some redeeming qualities (ha!) but for him to set up several internet companies, sign fake signatures with fake certificates shows me that is the real Shores. Over 2.5 million is a lot of permanent marker. It wasn’t one time, he did this thousands of time over many years. I bet he didn’t pay taxes on any of it. Sounds like he has treated a lot of people badly over the years, men and women. There are a lot of haters of this man. That says something.
Snooty says
Laughing Lady (aka Hahahaha),
Not just Bel Air – anywhere where people decry and come out of the woodwork to bash / raise their nose or prompt such outrage at someone who dares take a different opinion than theirs. I proved my point – I did just that, have been called names, etc… while the majority continue to rant on and on about what “should” happen to this guy and his business. All the while the interject personal feelings, and very little fact. The ones that “know the law” or “know a guy who knows Josh”…
So it is not just Bel Air. Everywhere has their snotty breed, but something about the socialites of Bel Air are really annoying. Either way, I live here and have to deal with it – just like you are just going to have to learn that people will have a difference of opinion.
Very proud of you for holding employement, as many of us do in America. I have a very good life, thanks! I am glad that you do as well, thanks for sharing that tidbit. However, before going into depth about someone who trolls the internet, just realize that you fell into it with your repeated posts and repeated replies.
LOL says
I worked somewhere where the wife was listed as the official owner, but only step foot in the place once a year, at best. It was for “minority” related stuff like the percentage of work that give “minorities” companies the work over a non minority owned company.
It’s quite the gimmick and was hilarious as well.

It doesn’t matter what any of you think. I’ve personally checked out the Ocean City Brewing Company on SDAT. Josh’s mother is the owner and Josh is just the primary agent for the company or companies. The FEDs can’t touch that business because Josh isn’t the owner. Period. End of discussion…..
LOL says
Huh! I’m just commenting on an irrelevant fact of company ownership I had experience in.
It had nothing to do with this news article.
Go smoke another one.
Snooty says
So they pretty much had your name listed on ownership documents so they could legally state “Minority Owned” business? LOL
Yeah, same with “Woman Owned” or “Disabled Veteran Owned”.
It does make a difference if / when they ever apply for business loans from a federal agency, or bid on contracts with the state / federal government.
LOL says
What are you talking about bro?
I was speaking that I worked in a “minority owned” business whereas the papered owner was a female, and the actual person who showed up as the “head guy” was the dude, the husband.
Right, all for contracts.
Not Exactly says
Doesn’t matter who’s name is on the business. All they need to prove is his fraud scheme money went into the business and the feds will take it back out. Happens all the time, criminals like to give money away to charities and such, when they are caught the money is recovered.
Being a new business, I would suspect it would be easy to figure out where the money came from to open 2 establishments in 2 years.
Josh has to come up with $3 million in fines and restitution, A condo and a couple of cars is going to come up short I suspect.
Snooty says
“Not Exactly” – while this may be true in other cases, if you read the entire plea agreement online, then you would see the business is not going to be touched.
Regardless of what type of funds were used to open it, the courts cannot touch OCBC as any part of restitution.
As for how they opened 2 in 2, there are many other “partners” involved, at least that is what some earlier media reports stated (media reports about the initial openings, not those related to this case).
Not Exactly says
The government will get the money from where ever it is hidden regardless of a plea agreement.
That’s just the way it works.
Josh can’t get out of his $3 million dollar bill. It will be paid in full, if he has to make pencils in prison for 20 years,
My 5 Cents says
Feds will not be able to touch them but both of those businesses will need patrons in order to survive. In light of recent events and the publicity surrounding them, it is doubtful that many people will be spending their dollars there. I suspect many people will never set foot in them again out of protest.
Not Exactly says
Oh and I wouldn’t be surprised if IRS doesn’t jump in along with some private organizations like the NFL and Major league baseball. This turd is never going to see another dollar.
frank says
“As for how they opened 2 in 2, there are many other “partners” involved,”
Rumor has it, other “partners” want their money back.
Snooty says
“Not Exactly” – no, you are mistaken. I apologize for having to repeatedly correct you, however the “Government” cannot seize any property / holdings of a private citizen without a minimum of a court order.
This particular court order / agreement rules out OCBC, any of his family and / or business associates (past or present), I am assuming (yeah, yeah, I know about assumptions) that him and his attorney’s designed the deal this way in order to keep others out of it. Protecting a legacy? Protecting his family?
Who knows, but from what little legal procession there has been so far, this particular business will not be touched. He “owns” a few others, along with a house in Bel Air, cars, property in OC, and cash holdings.
It’s like saying that an ordinary citizen sues an entity for $2,000,000 for slander and wins. The defendant has less than $1,000,000 in assets…the plaintiff just does not magically get the $2m.
As far as the entire $2.5 being “recouped” by his victims…well, good luck. If approved, the parties at loss have to prove that they were customers of Josh’s directly. Meaning, they will need to provide a papertrail. Just signing up for the settlement / legal action for restitution will not afford them their full money back.
Hahahaha says
Snooty,
I agree with you that the way the plea was written, it excludes OCBC. Of course, Josh and his attorney designed it this way. I’m sure if he didn’t agree to a plea, he would have been subject to way more than he is. The properties in OC and Bel Air are again under Donna Shores (from what a realtor friend looked up) so he probably hides all his assets under his mother’s name. Oldest trick in the book and it shows his lack of creativity in my opinion. Just stupid.
Anyway, I do hope that he is required to pay back the 2.5 million, regardless of how he does it. I don’t know if the businesses will survive but even based on reviews alone, it doesn’t appear likely.
Maybe we could meet there for a drink sometime ;). Just kidding, of course.
Snooty says
Lady HaHa,
Yep, the American way. Do wrong, and hide the assets under Mommy. LOL
Oh well, we’ll see how this shakes out. Hey, speaking of shakes…
Maybe Steak ‘n Shake could take over if ever this business goes kaput? If that does transpire, I will most certainly meet you there! 🙂
Snooty says
I am sure it could suffer somewhat from a business loss. But then again it is a craft / micro brewery (or whatever they are called). Something about those things, in the State of Maryland…they always seem to do so well. Oh well, we’ll just have to see, won’t we?!?!?!?!
Then again, if everyone were to stop conducting business with an organization that has a tie to criminals…then how does DuClaw stay in business? Why do people still flock to NFL games? Bill Gates was arrested for traffic violations, yet Microsoft “seems” to be doing pretty well.
Truth says
in light of the horrific tragedy that was in such close proximity to OCBC, I am guessing the case of Josh Shores has become old news. However I would just like to point out that almost every restaurant and bar in the area has offered some kind of percentage of profits to a fund for the officers. Every one, it seems, except for OCBC…even though it happened in its backyard literally. These restaurants are attempting to profit from tragedy, they are simply trying to show some respect. People will go out and drink regardless of what is happening in the world. The neglect of this establishment to offer any kind of donation to the fund of the officers is further proof of the greed and narcissism of its owners. And Snooty, go eff yourself. We know who the owner actually is.
Snooty says
Why, exactly, should I “buzz off”, as you so eloquently put it? It was a tragedy, a very sad day for all of Harford County, and all law enforcement. If you actually read the comments above, I am merely pointing out “legal” ownership…not the “actual” ownership. Get off your high horse, jerk.
How, pray tell, do you know they are not doing something? They could very well be offering something privately and not feel the need to publicize that they are doing it?
You stated, “These restaurants are attempting to profit from tragedy, they are simply trying to show some respect.” When what I think you meant was that they are “NOT” profiting from tragedy. Just because they announce publicly that they are doing something, doesn’t make them holier than thou. A grand gesture, certainly.
Have you asked anyone at OCBC if a donation for the family of the fallen has been setup?
See, this is exactly what I mean…you people get so worked up because some criminal had some type of ownership / management (whatever) in a place, that you now refuse to eat there. Well then, I highly suggest you find out the true owners of many of the establishments in the Bel Air area, and find out their criminal history. Some of them will be quite shocking, and based on your criteria…certainly not worthy of your continued patronage.
In this case, because a business does not SEEMINGLY support the downed officers funds, you feel the need to further bash them in their name. You mentioned greed an narcissism of the owners. How many gas stations in Harford County are relegating a portion of their profits to law enforcement? How many 7-11’s in the county are doing the same? Walgreens? Target? Walmart? McDonalds? Taco Bell? Italian Sensation? Subway? Wegmans? JC Penny? Are you going to call all of them out for not supporting the fund? Didn’t think so, but since OCBC is such an easy target nowadays…get your 2c in quick.
I will wait for you to reply with an outcry and damnation of all other businesses in the Greater Bel Air area who are not donating a portion of their profits to this worthy cause.
Duh says
Still haven’t been back to this restaurant, and proud to say so. Is this Snooty guy behind bars yet? Wasn’t his sentencing in June?
Harford Resident says
I haven’t set foot in their either.
