From the Bel Air Police Department:
On Sunday, January 3, 2015, at approximately 1:30 am Bel Air Officer Alex Maro observed a dark colored passenger car traveling along S. Bond Street in the wrong direction on the one way street. Officers were able to locate the vehicle and conduct a traffic stop on South Bond Street.
The operator of the suspect vehicle immediately began backing up and struck the front of the patrol vehicle operated by Officer Maro. Upon realizing that the crash occurred, the operator of the suspect vehicle attempted to flee by traveling southbound on S. Bond Street. Officer First Class Salvas pursued the vehicle that made a left turn onto Baltimore Pike. The suspect vehicle then turned onto Fulford Avenue and as it approached Churchville Road the operator lost control.
The vehicle struck an embankment on Churchville Road, coming to final rest. The operator (Katherine Toscano, 28 yoa, of Bel Air) was apprehended after attempting to elude Bel Air officers on foot. Ms. Toscano is charged with DUI, Fleeing and Eluding, and several other minor traffic charges; she was released after signing citations.
Officer Maro (a 2-year veteran) sustained minor injuries and has returned to duty.
She’ll get PBJ
If the officer received injuries, why wasn’t she charged with some sort of assault???? Seems reasonable to me….
Because she is white.
Gimme a large order of “White Privilege”.
Think she might have a drinking problem????
Why do you assume she was white?
The toxicology came back and she wasn’t drunk but was texting while driving. Gahler gave he a stern warning.
The way people drive around here makes me laugh, in a hurry to go nowhere. My biggest pet peeve is seeing people drive up to a stop sign as fast as they can and proceed to slam on the brakes the last 10 feet, people should really consider what that manuver looks like to other traffic, you know, looks like you aren’t going to stop. Fuggin’ morons.
I watched some lady holding a phone, head down, blam into the back of a big pick up truck’s rear hitch, parked, in a parking lot.
The owner of the truck came out, looked for damage. I had my windows down and heard “let me get my insurance info.” The guy hoped in the truck, started it up, and I saw the truck shaking back and forth and heard tire squeel followed by “crunching” this dude drove off and ripped the entire front clip, radiators, hoses etc. off this woman’s car. I laughed my ass off.
