Superintendent’s Report
– Congratulations to elementary and middle school students on such successful PARCC assessment results.
– Interim State Superintendent of Schools Jack Smith announced this morning that North Harford Elementary School is one of only six Maryland schools to be named a 2016 Maryland Blue Ribbon School by the Maryland State Department of Education and the U.S. Department of Education for students achieving at very high levels. Named a 2014 Maryland Green Ribbon School, we are very proud to add 2016 Maryland Blue Ribbon School to the list of honors received by North Harford Elementary School. In addition to a monetary prize and generous gifts from the program sponsors, the schools will be honored in March at a dinner in Annapolis. On that date, each Blue Ribbon School will be honored by the Maryland House of Delegates and the Senate. Congratulations to the students, parents, staff and school community. This is a great honor and well deserved recognition.

Really Barbara says
I can see a pay raise for teachers and I agree. But to ask for 8% pay raise for teachers while all other county workers and Sheriffs Deputy’s get nothing, that’s absurd. This needs to be stopped.
Old Timer says
8% will never happen. However we all know that she can ask for anything that she wants. She won’t get it. This is simply so she can shrug her shoulders and tell teachers that she tried and place the blame on county government. Typical games people play. Even if she asks for 8 and gets funding for 1%, she comes out smelling like a rose.
