From Harford Community College:
The board of trustees of Harford Community College has announced Dianna G. Phillips, Ph.D. as the new President of the institution. Phillips will guide the community college, which offers academic preparation for transfer to four-year institutions as well as workforce development.
Phillips comes to Harford Community College from the University of the District of Columbia in Washington, D.C., where she has served as the Chief Executive Officer of the University of the District of Columbia Community College since 2014. Phillips has previously held senior positions at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, New Jersey, and Monroe Community College in Rochester, New York. She began her career in higher education when she served as the Base Coordinator for Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s workforce development program at the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, Florida.
Harford Community College is located in Bel Air, Maryland. Dr. James J. Valdes, Chairman of the Board of Trustees shared, “Dr. Dianna Phillips is the kind of leader that we envisioned when we launched our search for the next president of Harford Community College. Her breadth of experience in community college education and her background with the military is a strong fit with the college’s needs at this important juncture in its history. We are in an environment of rapid technological and societal change and Dr. Phillips challenge will be to exploit the opportunities which always accompany change”.
Dr. Phillips earned her Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo and received her M.S. in Student Personnel Administration from Buffalo State College. Before attending graduate school she graduated from National University in San Diego with a B.B.A. in Business. Additionally, she earned an A.G.S. degree from Chaminade University in Hawaii while serving as a Communications Specialist in the United States Navy.
“Harford Community College is a recognized leader among community colleges in the state of Maryland. Dr. Phillips is a visionary who will provide the leadership that we need to guide the college into its next phase of development,” said Rich Norling, Vice Chairman of the Harford Community College Board of Trustees.

How soon will she want to make changes to the building names? I’m sure at least one will bring up some raciest memories from some student.

Why all the racist hate? You had to hate on the suspects in the Aberdeen shooting as well.
hmmm... says
It’s not about hate or racism, it’s about how the great “everyone gets a trophy for showing up” experiment has yielded the most useless, whining, crybaby, narcissistic generation yet. On D-Day 19 year old’s stormed the beaches, today’s nineteen year olds demand a safe place on campus where no one will make them uncomfortable with an opinion opposed to their own. Why consider someone else’s ideas when you could be taking a selfie? The biggest failure of my generation was in producing this one.
SoulCrusher says
No, the biggest failure of your generation was that YOU reproduced at all….
The Money Tree says
There is a pretty solid point being made there. Keeping young adults in a perpetual state of adolescence, no requirements for real responsibility to their communities, their countries…introduce the internet and smart-phones and you have the ingredients for the most self-indulgent, cry-baby, look at me I’m sexilicious bunch of fools ever produced. Not sure very many of them could or would ever storm the beaches for anything unless of course they’re being filmed and can make that pouty face and be on TV. We’re doomed if this is what’s coming up behind us.
SoulCrusher says
Well, I’m sure there we’re members of the generation that created yours, that said the same things about your generation. The old don’t like change. I get the impression, from the Republican Nazis that dominate the Dagger, that you all wish for the world to return to that of “Leave it to Beaver” and “My Three Sons”. Now, the REAL failure of your generation is that you ALL have allowed your politics to become in agreement with “Mein Kampf”. The Republican Party is the NEW Nazi party and the televised debates and rhetoric proves my point every day. You should ALL embrace the Constitution and stop trying to turn this world into a George Orwell novel. I can’t believe you guys can even call yourselves Americans after reading your pathetic, geriatric, GOP, Nazi driven drivel……
hmmm... says
Typical liberal response… a long string of insults with no actual rebuttal of the initial point. Whenever there is no counter argument to be made, the insult bag gets emptied out. It’s too bad that the liberal view of a call for accountability, responsibility, self reliance and consideration of voices outside one’s own head, is seen as hopelessly anachronistic and now, apparently, Nazism. I may not agree with your opinions, but I won’t attack you for them or try to shout you down. The one thing those pathetic old shows taught that is missing today is simple manners.
SoulCrusher says
You have no point. You’re just whining about how todays youth carries on. My point is that the OLD don’t like change and will try to hold progress back with their own archaic principles and needs. I was also pointing out that those who created yours, typically thought the same way as you, that the new generation is weak and rude. I also pointed out that the New Nazis, the Republican Party, politics are the true failure of your generation. You are a Republican right? Listen to the crap coming out of all your mouths. Its the same preaching of fear and hatred that was orchestrated by the Nazis in the 30’s and 40’s. As for manners, I gave them up because they don’t work and are completely unnecessary for those who don’t deserve to be treated respect…..
hmmm... says
Well, actually I did have a point and I made it. The original issue was about political correctness pushing for all types of renaming and redressing of perceived injustices. We hear daily about the snowflakes on campuses around the country that want to rename buildings and make safe spaces where no one will challenge their carefully crafted view of the world. You replied with a string of insults. I could opine on where you’re right and where you’re wrong on the issues you raise, but without manners and civility, which you scoff at, there can be no real debate.

To add insult, a lot more of today’s kids of all backgrounds are getting heavily involved into drugs with no end in sight as far as the eye can see.
Enjoy.

The politically correct butt hurt generation.
Wait until women are required to sign up for the draft. LOL!!!!
