From the Harford County State’s Attorney’s Office:
A Harford County jury today convicted Sean Turkot, age 29, of Abingdon, of First Degree Murder and Conspiracy to Commit First Degree Murder for the murder of his roommate, Edward Hayden, age 29, on January 4, 2015. The evidence presented in the trial was that Turkot was jealous of Mr. Hayden’s relationship with Turkot’s ex-girlfriend. Turkot and another planned the murder, and committed the murder in an apartment shared by Turkot, Hayden, and the girlfriend, in Abingdon.
Turkot and another wrapped Mr. Hayden’s body in a blanket and blue tarp, and dropped it in the Susquehanna River near Susquehanna State Park. Mr. Hayden was reported missing by friends, and deputies from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office took the report. The deputies searched Hayden and Turkot’s apartment and found a large pool of blood in the bedroom, and also found signs of a struggle. Turkot later admitted to having committed the murder, and told the detectives where Hayden’s body could be found. Detectives were able to locate Hayden’s body wrapped in the tarp, floating in the Susquehanna River. He had fatal injuries to his neck and to his head.
Turkot had plead not guilty, and the trial began on November 30, 2015 before Judge Yolanda Curtin. The case was investigated by Det. Tammy Burns and Det. Larry DiFazio of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office, and was prosecuted by Deputy State’s Attorney Diane Adkins Tobin and Assistant State’s Attorney R. Cameron Legg. A sentencing date has not been scheduled. Turkot faces the possibility of a sentence of life without parole.

“I did not kill him!
But if I did, I would have put the body right here… hey, how about that! There’s a body here!”
Pamela says
Yes, I thought that was strange, too.
