From the Aberdeen Police Department:
On Friday, December 04, 2015, at approximately 2:27 AM, the Aberdeen Police Department responded to the 500 block of Ohio Court in reference to a suspicious circumstance. Officer Easton made contact with a complainant in the backyard and began to gather facts about the complaint. Next, a white male appeared from the wood line and fired a shot, striking Officer Easton in the face with 6-8 projectiles.
Maryland State Police Medevac responded and transported the Officer Easton from the scene to Maryland Shock Trauma. Officer Easton is a 10 year veteran assigned to the Patrol Division, Midnight Shift. He is currently undergoing treatment for injuries sustained as a result of the incident.
Investigators responded quickly to the scene and identified Tyler Scott Testerman, W, M, DOB 07/31/94, as the alleged shooter. Testerman fled the scene on foot. A manhunt ensued that enlisted the support of the Maryland State Police and Harford County Sheriff’s Office; who assisted Aberdeen Detectives who were actively following up on leads regarding Testerman’s whereabouts.
At 10:25 AM members of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office surrounded a house in the 1000 block of Waterside Court, Edgewood, MD. As they approached the residence Tyler Testerman exited the house and surrendered without incident. The house was believed to be Testerman’s girlfriend’s residence.
Testerman was transported from the custody of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office back to Aberdeen Police custody where investigators will be charging him with attempted murder and numerous lesser charges.
Aberdeen Public Schools were closed today, and should resume normal operations on Monday, December 7, 2015. Traffic on Baltimore Street was not affected at this time.
The Aberdeen Police Department would like to thank the media for its timely dissemination of information during this event, and the public’s participation in providing numerous tips regarding this investigation.

This is Harford County Public Schools with an important update. Due to the ongoing police investigation in the Aberdeen area, as a precaution George Lisby at Hillsdale Elementary, Hall’s Cross Roads Elementary, Bakerfield Elementary, Aberdeen Middle and Aberdeen High schools will each open 3 hours late today, Friday, December 4, 2015. This is a correction from the previous message. Again, each school will open 3 hours late from their regular time. This means students should arrive at their bus stop 3 hours after their normal time. We will reevaluate.
