From the Aberdeen Rotary Club:
The Aberdeen Rotary presented the Boys & Girls Club of Harford County (BGCHC) a check for $40,000. This money is raised through the efforts of our annual Golf Tournament held beginning of September. The Aberdeen Rotary has been a long time supporter of BGCHC and since the inception of our Golf Outing donated in excess of $900,000 to support the clubs within Harford County.
Our success could not be realized without the support of our local businesses and their generosity with sponsoring the tournament. I like to say “Thank You” to all those local businesses that believe in our mission “Service above Self”. In addition to great sponsors within the business community, we also have great members which dedicate time, energy and monetary contributions to make our club a success.
The Aberdeen Rotary meets on Mondays @ Waters Edge Event Center from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM with lunch being served. We would like to invite anyone out that is inspired to give back to the community within which they work and live. We have a GREAT club that works hard and has fun while doing it. If you have an interest please contact, Mike Stewart, President – mstewart@janney.com
Our second annual fundraiser, Aberdeen Rotary Bull Roast, is under way and will occur on March 12, 2016 at Harford Community College. This will be an exciting year for us as move to the college’s venue so we can increase our capacity from a sold out 500 people to 800 people. In conjunction with this years’ Bull Roast we have partnered with Jones Junction to raffle off a brand new black Jeep Wrangler with lift kit (a $40,000 value). Information, details and pictures will be available mid-November by liking us on Facebook, visiting our web page or contacting one of our members.
Sam Adams says
Boys and Girls Club?!? How offensive to those asexual children or those that do not identify as either a boy or a girl or a 50 years old man who chronologically identifies as a youth. Such an organization needs to be banished to the ash heap of political correctness.
