From The Residences at Bulle Rock:
On Thanksgiving morning, Harford County area residents and runners alike can burn off calories before the big feast and raise money for a great cause by participating in the 9th Annual Bulle Rock Turkey Trot benefiting the Susquehanna Hose Company.
“The Residences at Bulle Rock continues to step to the plate as good citizens and neighbors in the City of Havre de Grace,” said Susquehanna Hose Company Chief Scott Hurst. “Not only do they put forward this effort for fundraising on our behalf on Thanksgiving Day, we are grateful for their support on a daily basis.”
Open to the public for all age groups and fitness levels, the 5K run and 1-mile walk will occur Thursday, Nov. 26, at the Residents’ Club at The Residences at Bulle Rock (1200 Bulle Rock Pkwy.) in Havre de Grace. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m., a warm-up will occur at 8:40 and the races will kick off at 9:00.
The 5K course will weave through the resort-style community and Bulle Rock Golf Course on paved roads and paths. A costumed turkey will greet participants and cheer them on at the finish line.
The course will be well marked with monitors along the way, and Elite Race Management will record each participant’s finish times. Taking a different path, the 1-mile walk will accommodate those with strollers, pets and wheeled devices.
“We couldn’t be more excited to be going into our ninth year with the event,” said Brenda Desjardins, a spokeswoman for The Residences at Bulle Rock. “We have seen many of the families participating since the first race and, with the inclusion of Elite Race Management and the chip timing system, serious runners are taking advantage of our fabulous course throughout the Bulle Rock community.”
At approximately 10:30 a.m., prizes will be awarded to 5K winners in the following age categories: overall top 3 male and top 3 female, and top 3 male and female for ages 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30 -39, 40-49, 50- 59 and 60+. The youngest and the oldest participants also will receive an award.
Registration includes refreshments and prizes, as well as a special collector Raven’s Purple long-sleeve logo T-shirts for participants registered before Nov. 15. The cost is $30 for adults and $20 for children under 10.
Online registration is available at BulleRockTurkeyTrot.com through Nov. 24. For more information, contact Elite Race Management at info@eliteravemanagement.com or call 410.939. 8700.
The first eight Bulle Rock Turkey Trots raised over $75,000, which was used to purchase new emergency equipment for the City of Havre de Grace and the Susquehanna Hose Company, including Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), carbon monoxide detectors, hydraulic rams, rescue and escape units.
