From the Harford County Public Library:
For the seventh time, Harford County Public Library was designated one of America’s Star Libraries by Library Journal, a ranking attained by fewer than 3.4 percent of public libraries in the United States.
The recognition was announced in the eighth edition of the Library Journal Index of Public Library Service, sponsored by Baker & Taylor’s Bibliostat.
The LJ Index is a measurement tool that compares U.S. public libraries with their spending peers based on four types of output measures—library visits, circulation, program attendance and public Internet computer use.
“Harford County Public Library being named a ‘star library’ for the seventh time is quite an honor,” said Mary Hastler, CEO of Harford County Public Library. “Making our library accessible and relevant to our customers is vital to what we do.
