From Habitat for Humanity Susquehanna:
Habitat for Humanity Susquehanna has announced plans to open its first ReStore nonprofit home improvement store in Harford County, located at 1013 Beards Hill Road in Aberdeen, MD. A tentative grand opening date is scheduled for May of 2016.
Habitat ReStore is a home improvement store and resale center that sells donated new and gently used furniture, home accessories, building materials and appliances to the public at a fraction of the retail price. Habitat for Humanity Susquehanna will use funds raised by its ReStore to help build, rehabilitate and repair more homes in partnership with low-income families.
“The opening of this new ReStore marks the latest step in our efforts to eliminate poverty housing in Harford and Cecil Counties, by helping raise funds to build and repair more homes” says Karen Blandford, Executive Director.
Donations of surplus or gently used construction materials and home improvement materials will be accepted beginning November 15 to stock the retail space. A donation center at the site will open in January. Collection trucks will be scheduled at various locations throughout Harford and Cecil County, and will also be available to make individual pickups by calling 443-567-7698 to schedule your donation. News about the store will be on www.harfordcecil.habitatrestores.org.
