Harford County Public Library presented trophies to Youth’s Benefit Elementary, Fallston Middle, and Patterson Mill High schools for their achievement of having the highest percentage of Summer Reading Program completers.
Media Specialists Krissy Hemmerich and Holly Tompkins from Youth’s Benefit Elementary School along with Principal Thomas M. Smith were on hand to receive their trophy at the September Library Board of Trustees meeting. Fallston Middle School’s trophy was accepted by Media Specialist Theresa Plumer. Principal Sean Abel, Ed.D. and High School Media Specialist Tracey Cramer received the trophy for Patterson Mill High School. Supervisor of Library Services at Harford County Public Schools, Patricia O’Donnell, was also in attendance and the Board thanked her for her continual encouragement to teachers and students.
County-wide 16,789 children and teens participated in the 2015 Summer Reading Program Every Hero Has a Story! By summer’s end 8,039 students had completed the program and almost 110,000 books had been read.
Sponsors of the 2015 Summer Reading Program included HAR-CO Credit Union, Jones Junction, Rosedale Federal Savings & Loan Association, Aberdeen Rotary Club, Darlington Friends of HCPL, Berardino Family Trust, Advanced Eye Care, The Aegis, APG Federal Credit Union, Growing Smiles Pediatric Dentistry, Huether-McClelland Foundation, Ripken Baseball, Morris A. Mechanic Foundation, Wegman’s and the Aberdeen IronBirds.

Congratulations to everyone involved in making the Summer Reading Program a success. The true winners are each and every student who spent time this past summer enjoying a good book! Reading is one of life’s great pleasures.

It looks like the teachers are making pleanty of money, they just need to stop spending it all on food.
At least the teachers arn’t subjected to Michelle’s school lunch program of crap, with a slide of crap, severed on a bed of crap.

Just my CRAZY observation. Its “STUDENTS” Reading Program. Yet with 3 photographs filled with adults, we see only 2 kids? I guess congratulations goes out to the ADULTS for reading all SUMMER!! LOL
