SPECIAL WEATHER ALERT
From now until Saturday Harford County and the surrounding area is under a flash flood watch. The National Wx Service has reduced the rain potential to two inches of rainfall during that period. If you are in an area prone to flooding make arrangements to safeguard your family, animals and valuables NOW. This warning is NOT due to the hurricane. This warning is because of a separate weather system.
REGARDING THE HURRICANE
As of 2 PM Thursday there is a 50/50 possibility the storm will cause Harford County major trouble. It appears as if this storm will stay out to sea. Winds predicted at 30 MPH Saturday and Sunday.
If any citizen is not signed up for emergency notification from the Harford County Emergency Operation Center here is how you can sign-up. For cell phone and/or e-mail and/or unlisted home numbers, go to the Harford County or Department of Emergency Services webpage and click the “Sign up Now” button which will take you to the emergency notification system website. If you don’t have access to a computer, you can call the office at 410-638-4900 and request your contact information be added. You will be asked your full name, home address, and phone number(s) (please indicate if one is a cell) as well as any email addresses you want added. An emergency message will be sent on your phone devices an e-mail will go to your email addresses entered in the system.
