Fellow Patriots,
We are honored this month to host YouTube Phenom and Libertarian commentator Julie Borowski. Julie is a Policy Analyst at FreedomWorks and a regular speaker at venues including LPAC, CPAC, Liberty Forum, and the Smart Girl Politics Summit. She’ll be outlining some of the major policy shifts having the biggest impact on younger generations, and how these policies will affect younger voters for years to come.
Not familiar with Julie? Check out some of her entertaining commentary on YouTube or at www.julieborowski.com.
Click above to watch Julie’s latest YouTube posts!
Plus, we’ll get an update on the latest move by the Center for the Arts. Their website has been completely remodeled – are their finances more or less transparent now? Join us as we Fact Check the CFA’s Frequently Asked Questions.
Try some great locally made wines, enjoy some light refreshments, meet the gracious staff of the winery, and get informed on the latest policies affecting your family!
As always, questions for the speakers are welcome, and ANYONE can sign up for 1-3 minutes of “Open Mic” time.

Free entrance to event, all ages?
Vicki Seitzinger says
Yes, admission is free and all are welcome. However, I would consider a child’s ability to maintain composure during 2 hours of material that may not be interesting to young ones. Coloring books or other amusements would be very helpful. There is a cash bar for wine and soft drinks.
Bob B says
Cash bar for wine? Has the liquor rules for a tasting room been changed? Is Harford Vineyard now a bar where we can purchase wine by the glass?
I hope you are right as I have sent a link to harford county liquor board.
MyNameHere says
Oooh! “I’m telling on you!”
Makes you feel like a big man, doesn’t it?
Isadora Duncan says
Vicki: About your question regarding the Center for the Arts’ transparency (or lack of it): Can you post your mailing address here and we’ll try to send you what we have on that. We’ll let you; your members; our fellow arts-lovers; the taxpayers; CFA contributors; CFA dancers, and CFA sponsors, decide. Thanks.
Vicki Seitzinger says
Sure Isadora, as soon as you explain why you hide behind the name of an undisciplined and failed dancer who is most remembered for scandalous love affairs, parasitic living, public drunkenness, Communist sympathies, public nudity and failed business ventures. Yes, I know, a free spirit that transformed that uppity European ballet style into true, high art. Blah, blah, blah. Here’s a suggestion. Publish the reasons why you are more transparent and refute any claims made by C4L with fact. You don’t need my personal mailing address for that.
PS Leave the scarf at home.
isadora duncan says
Vicki: I was going to send you several facts and leads that would help you convince others in the community why CFA should not be given, in my opinion, another dime of public or private money. I was also going to send you several questions to ask the CFA, including, but not limited to:
– CFA, Have you pretty much had a revolving door of board members, staff, and supporters over the past several years? If so, why?
– Are you really up to your 4th, 5th and 6th iteration of your “plan” in ten years? If so, did you really think that $110 million or $ 60 million was realistic? And if you did think it was realistic, what does that say about your grip on reality or frankness with your stakeholders? What does that say about your new number of $ 25 million?
– Have you really raised and spent about $ 2 miilion so far? On what? Please include program revenue on the income side, and line item expenses, thank you.
– You appear to have changed your fiscal year-end again. Is that true? If so, why?
– Did you ask for more than one extension from the IRS to file your FYE 6/14 IRS Form 990? If so, why?
– Does this mean that we won’t get to see your fiscal year-end 6/30/15 IRS Form 990 until next spring or summer?!? Or are you going to change your fiscal year-end again?
– Have you ever had independently audited financial statements like most 501c3’s?
– Were some of your financial records shredded? Or were they destroyed due to Tudor Hall mold? If so, why? And where are the electronic records? Or do you still have all of your records?
– You say that the new $ 25k contribution and the “mystery” $ 100k contribution will be “used exclusively for the construction of the new center”. Are you carrying those balances on your books as restricted funds? Can you post a balance sheet to that effect that is more recent than June 2014, or is that too much to ask?
Vicki, I’m on your side on this issue. But I guess you assumed otherwise, and you went to wikipedia to look up Isadora Duncan instead. Not very rational of you. Going forward, I sincerely hope that you take a more measured and thoughtful approach in exposing the CFA for what it is.
Dagger Editors: you should really delete the post from the person calling themself “vicki Esa ****”. The name they use is crass, disgusting and utterly offensive.
Vicki Seitzinger says
Isadora, It seems that I have made assumptions about your motives that were incorrect and for that I apologize. Your suggestion that I publish my personal address looked like an open challenge rather than an offer of assistance.
Your knowledge of the subject is extensive. It looks like you’ve been researching it for quite a while. My guess is you could present the material as well as anyone. Perhaps you know our presenter? If not, the two of you should get together and share your thoughts. I think you would be of one mind.
If we’re not already on your calendar, please consider joining us on the 22nd.
PS My comments on Ms. Duncan were made from general knowledge. There was no irrational Wikipedia search.
isadora duncan says
And I meant C4L’s mailing address, not your personal mailing address.
isadora duncan says
One final comment: I AM an arts lover. And that is probably the main reason that I consider the actions of CFA crew to be so disturbing. Because, in my opinion, they’re giving all of us a bad name. Have a good evening.
I’m sorry if my using that term in my first post threw you off…….
The Money Tree says
While we have the C4L on the line. Just read today where the new “private” company doing refuse work in the county…you know the one whose CEO’s last name rhymes with Farkins has been given use of all the existing county vehicles. How cushy is that? So instead of his “private” company having to purchase their own vehicles or use their own existing vehicles in meeting the terms of the contract we the taxpayer pay for Mr. “Farkins” to pocket money he doesn’t have to use for machine purchases and to report that as “savings” and I bet that difference has not been calculated into the dollar value we were sold to justify the switch and to get rid of all those employees. Very unusual and sets a weird precedent that frankly I’ve never heard of before. So who pays the insurance on these vehicles while Mr. “Farkins” people use them. Good to be king, ain’t it, very good to be king.
Vicki Seitzinger says
Mr. Tree, The arrangement with county vehicles is not quite as you describe but like you, I was also concerned about this arrangement. I wish you had been at the public hearing on Tuesday to voice your opinions. I could have used the backup. Despite the raised concerns about this legislation, the members did not even discuss amendments that would have taken the sting out of it. They passed it unanimously with no discussion.
The Money Tree says
You don’t smell a rat there? I’m sorry if the sun is out and my leg’s wet I’m looking around for something other than rain.
The Money Tree says
Of course they passed it unanimously without discussion. They don’t care…haven’t cared for decades and since we the voters merely moved around the deck chairs at the last election cycle we get same o, same o. Shame on us.
The Money Tree says
Shame on me for speaking too soon. Seems like we the taxpayers of Harford County will continue to pay the maintenance and insurance of these vehicles while Mr. “Farkins” employees drive them around town. What no gas card? They need gas cards too…get on it people. It is good to be king. I bet this puts at least another couple hundred thousand in Mr. “Farkins” pockets. Wonder when the first conversation about this highly unusual arrangement took place? Before the contract was made public…naaa. That would never happen because that just wouldn’t be right.
The Money Tree says
And what about the cats with rabies?
It a freaking conspiracy I tell you!
The Money Tree says
Hi Bill. So odd how you always appear whenever there are questions raised about policy within Harford County government.
