Maryland State Troopers assigned to the JFK Highway Barrack are continuing the investigation of a motor vehicle collision that occurred Sunday evening.
On Sunday August 23, 2015, at approximately 5:15 PM, two motorist were involved in a minor collision while traveling south on Interstate 95 near Aberdeen. The two motorists pulled their SUV’s to the shoulder and assessed the damage. The damage was minor and the two parties agreed to exchange information. MDTA Courtesy Patrol was on the scene while they exchanged information.
Debra Marvel, 45, of Columbia, MD, who was operating a Ford Explorer, was parked on the shoulder behind the other vehicle, a Kia SUV operated by Lorna Joseph, 47, of McLean, VA. Marvel was standing between the two vehicles waiting to exchange information. For unknown reasons, Joseph backed the Kia into Marvel, pinning her between the two vehicles. Marvel was flown to Shock Trauma by Maryland State Police Trooper 1.
