From Habitat for Humanity Susquehanna:
Over the past couple of months Habitat for Humanity Susquehanna has been constructing a home in Havre de Grace, Maryland. What you may not have noticed, is that the framing of the home at 518 North Adams Street is pink! This particular home was part of Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build project that challenged women to devote at least one day to help build affordable housing in their local communities.
Lowe’s employees were among the volunteers that helped build this home. Joan Higginbotham, Lowe’s director of community relations said, “Women Build has made a difference in the lives of thousands of families since its inception. We’re grateful to all the women in Cecil and Harford counties who got involved and were part of something bigger.”
The home will be purchased by a single mom and her three kids later this year. Habitat for Humanity Susquehanna is still in need of volunteer labor and $11,375 before completing the home in Havre de Grace. To get involved please visit www.habitatsusq.org or call 410-638-4434.
