From Chesapeake Science and Security Corridor:
You are invited to a public workshop regarding compatibility planning around Aberdeen Proving Ground.
Harford County and the Chesapeake Science and Security Corridor, in partnership with jurisdictions in the region, are preparing a Joint Land Use Study (JLUS) to address compatibility planning around Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG). The primary objective of the JLUS is to reduce potential conflicts between APG and surrounding areas while accommodating new growth and economic development, sustaining economic vitality, protecting public health and safety, and sustaining the operational missions of the installation.
The public is invited to attend the Public Workshop to review, discuss, and comment on the Public Draft of the JLUS Report with the JLUS development team. Documentation includes the project background, compilation of the compatibility issues, and recommended strategies to address compatibility. Two previous public workshops were conducted for the JLUS that provided the public with an overview of the process and solicited input that was incorporated into the JLUS. The Public Draft documentation will be available on the JLUS website, www.apgjlus.com in early September, for review.
In order to develop a plan that is responsive to local needs, input from the community is essential.
You are encouraged to join us at this workshop to learn more about this planning study, and provide input on the Public Draft of the JLUS Report.
