On Sunday, August 9, The Friends of Jerusalem Mill are holding the first annual 1st Responders Day at the Mill. This family friendly event will include demonstrations, displays, fire trucks, a K9 unit, and activities for the young and old. The Joppa-Magnolia Fire Company will demonstrate an automobile rescue by cutting apart a vehicle around 3:00 PM and there will be various displays with working fire and rescue equipment.
The organizers of the event will also be honoring the 1st Responders on Sunday, acknowledging the selfless sacrifices made by these brave men and women. The Kingsville Volunteer Fire Company, the Joppa-Magnolia Fire Company, and other 1st Responder units will be at Jerusalem Village from noon until 4:00 PM on Sunday. The rain date is August 23.
The event is free and food will be available from the Sunshine Grill. The schedule is as follows:
Noon – Opening activities
12:30 – Honoring of 1st Responders – brief remarks by participants
12:30- 4:00 – Displays/Exhibits/Children’s Activities
4:00 – Closing Activities
