Guest speakers will be Aberdeen Mayor – Mike Bennett and Aberdeen City Council Members Sandy Landbeck and Steve Smith…..all candidates for this Fall’s Aberdeen City Election.
Someone should ask them what the City should do to help promote the re-purposing of the B&O Train Station now that the Historical Society has saved it from demolition.

Appearing before the “new Democrat Club” is against the principle of City elections being non-partisan. Then again, since Art Helton owns the club and has repeatedly shown that rules and laws don’t apply to him, these three stooges will appear and flaunt their party affiliation.

I found it strange indeed that Ruth Elliott, hands down the best speaker on the council, was not invited to speak at the New, New Democratic Club. I am captivated with her presence on the televised biannual town meetings.
There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with identifying yourself as a member of a political party and participating in partisan activities surrounding an election in Aberdeen, Bel Air, or Havre de Grace. The election process is non-partisan; the Mayor and members of the council are not running in partisan primary elections. There is no regulation nor expectation that associations with a political party should stay out of town elections…
