From the Office of the Comptroller of Maryland:
Comptroller Peter Franchot will head out Thursday afternoon to enjoy a summertime family tradition — going to not one, but two county fairs. The Comptroller will start off at the Fair Hill Fairgounds for the 62nd annual Cecil County Fair. He will meet Al Miller, president of the Cecil County Fair Board to celebrate the county’s agriculture heritage. The fair attracts 75,000 people with more than 7,000 entries from 1,200 open and 4-H exhibitors.
He then will travel to Bel Air to see what’s new and exciting at the 28th Annual Harford County Farm Fair. The Comptroller will join Harford County Executive Barry Glassman and others to tour the fair and see local residents’ home-grown vegetables, baked goods, needlework, photographs and artwork.
