From The Liriodendron Gallery:
The Liriodendron Gallery is pleased to announce an art exhibit of the works of J. Gordon Anderson beginning Sunday, July 12th and ending Sunday, August 16th. A reception with the artist will be open to the public on Sunday, July 12th from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Regular gallery hours on the following Sundays are also from 1:00-4:00 p.m.
Growing up in Randallstown Rev. Anderson studied art at Towson University with a B.S. degree in Painting, 1997. In 2001 he graduated from St. Mary’s Seminary and University where he received an M.A. degree in theology and was later ordained a priest. Around that time, as a way to deepen his faith and spiritual understanding, he began exploring traditional Christian iconography. His paintings comprise a wide range of subject matter but it is his sacred work that sets him apart from many other artists. He works primarily in oil and egg tempera in a loose representational style. Rev. Anderson currently serves as rector of St. Alban’s Anglican Church in Joppa.
