Fire officials are continuing their investigation into a fire which severely damaged a Forest Hill home early Monday morning.
The fire was reported by a passerby at a two-story home in the 300 block of Bynum Road at approximately 1:18 a.m. Monday morning, according to a release from the Office of the State Fire Marshal. A total of 30 firefighters from the Bel Air, Fallston, and Jarrettsville volunteer fire companies responded and brought the blaze under control in approximately 45 minutes.
The blaze was traced to an interior bedroom/storage room, but the cause of the fire remains under investigation, according to the State Fire Marshal’s Office. The home was unoccupied at the time of the fire. Damage to the structure is estimated at $150,000, while damages to its contents are estimated at $50,000.
