From the Aberdeen IronBirds:
The Aberdeen IronBirds have partnered with University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health, The Arena Club in Bel Air, and Wegmans in Abingdon, in an initiative to inspire our community to make healthier decisions, get active, and lead overall healthier lifestyles.
The Aberdeen IronBirds opened the second annual 2131 Healthy Challenge as a part of the team’s season-long celebration of the 20th anniversary of Cal Ripken, Jr. breaking Lou Gehrig’s consecutive games streak.
The 2131 Healthy Challenge is a community initiative built to encourage children of Harford County to start living a healthier lifestyle over the summer. For their hard work and effort over the summer, children will be rewarded with a free voucher to a future Monday-Thursday regular season Aberdeen IronBirds home game.
2131 Healthy Challenge
Rules: For 21 consecutive days you must complete the following:
2 Hours or less of recreational screen time per day (TV, computer, tablet, etc)
1 Hour of physical activity per day
3 Servings of Fruits and Vegetables per day
1 Balanced Meal per day
You may pick up a 2131 Healthy Challenge Book at Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium, Wegmans in Abingdon, or the Arena Club to get started. A parent must sign off each day that you have completed the challenge and then you can turn in your completed book to the IronBirds Box Office for a voucher to a future Monday-Thursday regular season home game.
In addition, participants who attend any of our “Healthy Challenge” Monday home games during the season will have a chance at prize drawings from each of our Healthy Challenge Partners.
You also can earn a SECOND free ticket voucher by going to one of three Move-It Classes at the Arena Club. The classes are FREE and you do NOT have to be an Arena Club member to go.
From the Arena Club: “Encourage your kids to have fun and get fit with our 45-minute Move-It classes that feature strength, cardio, and flexibility exercises set to music. The friendly fitness environment will help kids develop healthy exercise habits while having a blast! All Healthy Challenge participants ages 8-12 are welcome to join us for FREE on June 20th, July 25th, or August 8th at 11:00 a.m. on our indoor turn field! You may even spot an IronBirds player or mascot there!”
**Must be 12 or younger to participate

WOW, don’t do us any favors there, Aberdeen! LOL
Mon – Thurs? Nice.
F.L. says
Who’s paying for this? Aberdeen taxpayers? Or this a Federal mandate? Again, taxpayers.
